Dude,
Youāre a trip!

Glad I could comply. Can we be done with this conversation now? Or do you want to put more words in my my mouth for things I never said or implied?
I have already told Gossamer that he needs to basically grown up a bit. He doesnāt listen.
Just ignore him.
Considering that what you said that I said about what you said, I never actually said, Iām ready to be done being accused of putting words in your mouth that I never actually said. I never mentioned the words āanabolic hormoneā regarding anything you said.
If you want to go back and reread what I actually said, and respond to my actual words, fine. If not, Iām done.
Will a quote be sufficient?
This is pretty much Dr Gordonās cookie cutter protocol. When it didnāt work for me, he insisted it was psychological. I respect the guy but had to drop him as a doctor.
My thoughts too. That why I asked him if he lived in the LA area. I only briefly tried the clomid protocol and when I told him I wanted to go back to HCG, he had no problem with it. Otherwise, his protocol worked very well for me except that it was not optimized for dose and the cost was way higher than it needed to be with him not taking any insurance for the visits. Also, cost of meds from his coumpound pharmacy was about double what I needed to pay.
Like you, I think heās a great doc. Spent lots of time with me and led me out of the woods of TRT misinformation floating around the internet. I just needed to get the cost under control and the freedom to optimize my personal dose.
How much did you pay per month on average, if I may ask?
You may ask, but I donāt remember. It was many years ago (early 2012- mid 2014 time frame). Iām sure if I dug through my Visa charges I could figure it out. The cost was from several factors:
He did not take insurance and he was quite expensive for the visits ($1,000???)
He wanted me to use a specific compound pharmacy for the unique blended T and that was about double the cost of buying scripted branded DEPO T from my local pharmacy.
He also wanted me to use the same compound pharmacy for HCG and they were expensive compared to scripted PRGNYL from my local pharmacy. Plus, now you canāt even purchase compounded HCG, which is why I think heās pushing clomid.
It was a 200 mile round trip to see him and that got old quickly.
That sucks because I just literally joined his pratice like 3 days agao. Smh Wasted all this money. Now idk what todo. But what doctor are you with now ?
I give him credit for getting started on the right path. It just doesnāt need to be so expensive. I hope you do well in your practice. Can you please do us all a favor? I am seriously interested in seeing data on the use of clomid with TRT as a replacement for HCG. There must be some evidence if your clinic prescribes it.
As for my current doc, sheās my local primary doc. She agreed to take over medication management several years ago.
I am lucky to have this option too. But then I can say goodby to 200mg/week so I have stuck with the pricier option. Does your primary allow you to go over lab ranges?
She prescribes at the same dose I was previously at (93 mg /wk in an E3D protocol), which puts my Total T near the top of my age-adjusted range and my Free T about mid-range (I have high SHBG). I supplement the prescribed T with stuff I purchased overseas so that my Free T is where I feel my best. If you recall, I did a dose-response experiment and landed on 125 mg/wk in an E3D protocol. This dependably puts my free T at the upper end of the range for a 20-30 year old male (I donāt believe in age adjusted ranges).
When I have labs for my annual visit, I adjust my T dose downward for a couple of weeks so that the results are what she expects to see at the prescribed dose.
Give it a fair shot. You spent the money and heās a knowledgeable guy. Just rigid in his protocol beliefs. Iām with defy now and have a lot more flexibility. But theyāre not perfect either.
Out of curiosity. Can you contact them via mail whenever you want to ask questions about your treatment or do you have to schedule an appointment too speak with a doctor or nurse?
Iāve never emailed them with questions, but if you call them, their nurses will call you back within 24 hours to answer questions free of charge. I think there is a fee if you want to speak with a doctor.
Thanks, this sounds good. Where did you get your physical done? I heard some people run into problems with that.
Iāve emailed them with basic stuff and they send it to a doc if needed and reply. Obviously they arenāt going to go super in depth for free though
Apologies! I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant that āyou joined his practiceā as a physician. I see now that you joined his practice as a patient. My bad. Heās a really nice guy and very knowledgeable of TRT. You wonāt go wrong. I have ZERO regrets for being his patient for my first couple of years. He got me on the right path.
Some advice - Keep you primary doc advised of what you are doing. Have him/her monitor your general health and run labs in parallel to Dr. G. After a while, the doc may become comfortable with the protocol as mine did. She saw how it was benefiting me and definitely not harming me. After a couple of years of this, she became comfortable enough to take over medication management and thatās when I got the cost under control.
Best of luck. Tell Dr. G. that one of his former patients thanks him for his help!
Any walk in clinic or even your PCP should do it. I crop the defy logo off and tell them I need it for work or sports or something. If you say itās for HRT they get weird.
