New Partner, More Consitency

Why do you eat so little protein? What is your goal for weight and strength? I have to go back and look at the beginning.

Okay I checked the first post. Do you take any supplements? Being a deputy, do you have an alternating schedule? Reason for asking is because I know it can be difficult to eat a lot while you’re working.

@gorillavanilla

my goals are really non existent. I don’t wont to be huge or overly strong. I generally want to stay or become athletic so that I can over come most if not all physical confrontations. I dont run from confrontation in my line of work but if that time comes I want to be able to. I have no aspirations of being great at anything other than a small town cop which requires more intellect than most think. I train with cage fighters to help with my athleticism. I lift to make up for what I lack in skill and I eat and drink because, well, I love food. All of these things have kept my cholesterol in check which is important to me because my grandfather died at 48 from heart disease and my dad came close around the same age.

I have lots of things more important than lifting, wife, kids, work and it falls in place where it belongs now which has reduced the stress I was creating when I had preset goal of weight lifted. I have read tons on the subject and figured out that the only thing that will make me big and strong is LOTS of time under the bar on a consistent basis (read like 10 years) and if I stress about every little thing I wont make it.

I am currently dieting strictly for the experience on trying to cut weight for a mma fight because I have sort of become a mentor for the younger early 20’s guys I train with and I speak from research not experience. So I am trying to get experience.

For those MMA guys I train with I hope I have not over stepped with the mentor thing! you are all much better than me on the mats I only bring age and life experience to the group which I hope to share and help you through life anyway I can.

Body weight this morning upon waking 197

so last week for the weight cut. would like to lose 2 more pounds of regular weight and then the last 10 in water. I really think the hard part is going to be drinking a gallon plus of water on days 5,4,and 3. Day 2 will be a half gallon and day 1 well it will suck bad too. day 3 and 2 will be boiled chicken, veggies and boiled eggs. day 1 will be nothing.

don’t plan on going over 1600 calories any day this week and going to do my best to keep carbs under 75 G lower if I can.

so blogging will be increased this week so I can look back on it if I need to in the future

Any chance you will make another foray into the combat forum? I wonder if letting just one poster ruin it is giving up too easily,

I read over there, don’t post much. I find that many times people with no practical experience seem to speak the most. I am in reality somewhat inexperienced compared to other in that forum. Idaho has some serious credentials as do others. As with everything on the internet I read as much as possible and find the common thread from all my readings and the posters opinions. That common thread is usually the truth or as close to it as you can come.

^^^^ Totally agree re: Combat Forum. First time I posted was also my last time as I got flamed for trying to give helpful advice. I’m too old to care about the opinions of internet warriors.

body weight today 194.5 goal acheived been drinking 1 gallon of water a day atleast. By the way drinking that much fluid is harder than it sounds if you are not used to it.

11/13/2012 calories 1405 Fat 62.5g Carbohydrates 65.4g Protein 136.9g

todays work out

Squat 3x10 @115
Super set 5x10

So super happy with the body weight of 194.5 made my goal of 195! Any additional weight loss this week while drinking lots of water the rest of this week will make the water cut super easy. I am thinking that I will have to cut 5 or 6 pounds max with the Sauna suit after my 24 hour fast.

Decided to pull heavy today as I had no idea where I was at and Dead lift is my favorite lift anyway. My best ever pull is 450 at 225 pounds. I was eating everything in sight and had been lifting steady and hard for 6 + months so 375 @195 bw while on a hard cut and low carb’s makes me happy.

Energy levels are still good and I am starting to notice some separation in my muscles legs are getting lean as all get out. I think I may see if I can make a 185 weight by the end of the year or mid January and get below 10% body fat and start working my body weight up with the weights.

Your deadlift weight is pretty good and it looks like you have a good strength program going.

Thanks

So body weight was 197 when I woke up today.

Went out to eat for my dads b-day and had fajitas. pork, steak, chicken and sausage cooked with peppers onions and such, 8 corn tortilla chips and refried beans. Split the meal up and ate it all night. Not what was on the plan but life gets in the way.

Had a salad with oil based dressing, Feta Cheese and Gyro meat for dinner tonight. will eat 8 oz of turkey burger in Salsa later and then 8 or 12 Oz of meat tomorrow afternoon. Also trained MMA today so I could gauge energy levels for comparison on Wednesday and they seemed good. three two minute rounds with 1 minute rest went well and that will probably be what I do on Wednesday since I did not work my cardio like I planned.

My fiber consumption has been to low and pooping has not been regular enough. I wish I like vegetables more but I don’t. I will take a dose of Senokot which is a natural laxative in the morning to get things moving since there is about two days of food stopped up inside of me.

6 pm tomorrow night is the cut off for all food and water so the suck will begin then. I will start sweating out any extra water I need to about 3:30 or so by starting out on the tread mill with abolene on my skin and the typical plastic bag suit. I will probably only walk on it and wont run more than 5 minutes or so to get my body tempature up. After that I will check weight and take a epsom salt bath and check weight again. Wrap up in blankets if I need more after that and then check again… I will continue with the baths until I reach weight.

Anyway that’s the plan I will be off starting at 7 am tomorrow morning and will blog log often through the day so I can look back on it.

I can honestly say that over the last 3 weeks on this diet that I have not been hungry and have not felt tired or weak more than normal anyway. I will just keep telling myself that the food I am going to eat starting a 6 pm Tuesday will make up for all of it.

Rehydrateing and eating will be documented and will start with choking down 1 bottle of Pedilite the first half hour to 1 hour then I will continue on with regular BCAA water and food every half an hour till I go to work. Will probably be tuna helper for the food. After that I am going to treat myself to some pumpkin pie and get back on to my turkey burger and regular food.

Nice work on the heavy bag. I recently got some gloves and am trying to learn to stand / move / hit properly and have a newfound respect for the conditioning that bag work requires. Cool idea of cutting for the experience. Will be interested to follow along how it goes for you.

Since 7 pm last night I have had 8 oz of ground chicken with salsa 12 oz of water and 20 oz of diet dew.

I have taken two gentle all natural laxatives this morning since I have not gone in several days. I hate for vegetables is catching up to me.

I woke up at 2:30 pm today (remember I work nights)and my bodyweight was 195.5 sat down for a bowel movement and new weight is 194.5.

getting ready to sit down to 6 oz of ground chicken and 20 oz of water with BCAA mixed in. all food and water will be cut off at 6 pm and then the suck begins.

the trick to bag work is remembering to breath. You can be in the greatest shape in the world but if you dont remember to breath it is going to suck

had a single serving of strawvberry yogart light and finished my water… now the suck begins
I did buy a pumpkin pie for my reward

Do you use CLA to aid with fat loss? I find it a very helpful supplement. Also I use corn silk as a natural diuretic when trying to loose excess water. A probiotic as well as Glucomannan natural Konjac Root fiber work excellent in aiding bowel movement for me. Also, especially as we age, using digestive enzymes taken before a meal(meats) is essential in helping with processing and getting the nutrients from our food.

Very interested in how this cut goes, thanks for keeping us informed.

The only thing that I take beside’s food is Modern labs BCAA 10:1:1, Fiber and fish oil when I remember. I need to start taking a vitamin also but normally forget.
