Hey prfessor, have you had a chance to hear The Roots latest album (How I Got Over)? I saw early in this thread that you’re a big fan of them (no pun intended). If not, I highly recommend it. It’s a little more mellow and laidback than what I prefer for lifting, but otherwise it’s really good.
Also, are you a fan of Nine Inch Nails? They’re my favorite band to lift to and if you want to branch out some, I think you might like them. There’s something about the self-loathing that occurs when I listen to them that inspires me to lift harder and with more intensity.

Yeah, I’ve had that roots for a while. My mp3 player is mostly them, Eminem, Kid Cuddi, Lil Wayne, Kanye and nas right now.
I’ll look into Nine Inch Nails but I don’t know their music well at all.

A lot of NIN’s music is kinda bullshit, but here is a chronological list of the songs I lift to, along with the album they’re from:

Ringfinger-PHM
Wish-Broken
Happiness In Slavery-Broken
Last-Broken
Mr. Self-Destruct-The Downward Spiral
Heresy-TDWS
March of the Pigs-TDWS
Closer-TDWS
Ruiner-TDWS
Big Man With a Gun-TDWS
Burn-TDWS Special Edition
Dead Souls-The Crow Soundtrack
The Perfect Drug-Lost Highway Soundtrack
We’re In This Together-The Fragile
The Day the World Went Away-The Fragile
The Collector-With Teeth
The Hand That Feeds-With Teeth
Everyday Is Exactly the Same-With Teeth
Only-With Teeth
Getting Smaller-With Teeth
The Line Begins to Blur-With Teeth
Meet Your Master-Year Zero
Capital G-Year Zero
The Beginning of the End-Year Zero
Discipline-The Slip
these are the absolute cream of the crop in my humble opinion. Check 'em out and let me know if you like 'em.

Thants crazy man, I have almost the same list in my mix, feel the same way about the mood it puts you in for big lifts. I almost called you out for not having Discipline in there, but then I scrolled down. Prof you should really check those out.
Gotta have Discipline in there! When I started playing the drums, that one and Only were the first two NIN beats I learned. They’re pretty much the same, with some more bass drum notes in Discipline, plus Only is played on a drum machine and Discipline is played by Josh Freese on a real kit.
Yeah…some of you have strange taste in music. I don’t see how anyone could train to that. It lacks rhythm. There is no flow there, just loud ass guitar rifs and screaming into the mike with no vocal training.
If they can’t hold a note (or rap their asses off), I am probably not interested.
See guys, even if he may not be the best rapper, if you hear a beat like that and your head isn’t rocking at all, chances are, our taste in music is drastically different (even though he isn’t good enough for me to get his cd or anything).
If you can’t FEEL the music, I can’t train to it.
Dudes screaming into mics with no vocal talent or rhythm don’t cut it.
I imagine only people not very rhythmic themselves would be into that.
Some of you must have sex like autistic chipmunks judging by the music you listen to.
^With Beyonce and Charlie Wilson. Throwback to his older sound.
^Power Remix, featuring Jay-Z and Swizz Beatz. I kind of hate what they did with the original beat but the end is nice, Ye spazzes over the Swizz Beatz produced part.

I’ve been listening to the original on a constant loop in the gym for the past week. When is that cd being dropped?

Middle of November, I think the 16th. Of course it could get pushed back, again. But at least it looks like he’s finished recording it, so it should be soon.

LOL, what a fucker. Just like TM103. Pushed from May to July, to September.
I mean, I’d rather they didn’t drop a piece of shit, but come on… Don’t talk about the album until it is close to ready.
EDIT: I just downloaded Trap or Die II yesterday. So far I’m a fan, so I’m really looking forward to the release.
