I’m kinda lovin’ the new Bloc Party album, Intimacy.

Just discovered this, I think it’s pretty sweet:

Really? I’m quite disappointed with it.

From Robert’s Suicidal Tendencies days. He’s an amazing bassist, different from Cliff, but not necessarily worse.

Anterior- Scar City
Burzum- Lost Wisdom
Goatwhore- In the Narrow Confines of Defilement
Immortal- Beyond the North Waves
Dimmu Borgir- The Chosen Legacy

Should set your ears straight for awhile.

and never forget Amon Amarth’s “With Oden on Our Side.”

Though, the song “Death in Fire” from Amon Amarth’s Versus the World album is a fantastic workout finisher. It’s about four and a half minutes of “if you don’t finish this workout bleeding from your eyes, you’re a pussy” material.

Someone mentioned Devour - Shinedown. I think that Sound of Madness from the same CD is even better (title track BTW).

I also listen to these while lifting/ running:
Newer:
Three Days Grace - Animal I have Become
Three Days Grace - Riot

Older:
Fuel - Won’t Back Down
Puddle of Mudd - Control
Everlast - Hot to Death
Saliva - Raise Up
P.O.D. - Boom
Kicking Harold - Gasoline

Never heard of most of the other bands/ artists mentioned. Will check them out.

The Game - “Big Dreams”

M.O.P - “Cold As Ice”

Bishop Lamont - “Send a Ni**a Home”

Canibus - “Navy Seals”

Jay-Z - “Jockin Jay-Z”

Ludacris ft T.I - “Wish You Would”

Lil Wayne - “I’m Me” and “Best Rapper Alive”

Killer Mike - “Pressure” / “God In The Building” / “The Juggernaut”

Royce Da 5’9 - “Street Hop” / “I Owe You” / “Motown 25” ft Elzhi

Glasses Malone - “Certified” / “Haters” ft Lil Wayne

Juelz Santana - “Rumble Young Man Rumble” / “I Am Crack” / “M.I.C Check”

T.I - “Watch What You Say To Me” / “Tell Em I Said That” / “Look What I Got” / “Bankhead” / “What Up” / “Swing Your Rag”

If you like Busta give a listen to Grafh ft Busta Rhymes-“Like Ohh”

If you want a whole CD that’s all face melting metal - go with Anthrax’s Fistful of Metal.

he is a pretty good bassist.

But he’s still not as good as cliff. Cliff is better from a musical perspective, and the fact he turned the other members of the band onto bands like the misfits, he was the driving influence in the first few (read: BEST) albums they had, and there is no way death magnetic will compare to MOP, or RTL.

And if Rob had been the one to die and Cliff replaced him, people would be saying the exact opposite.

I do agree that MoP and RtL are their best works, but again, they’re different, to the point of almost an apples and oranges comparison. Robert does things that very few people can do on the bass. Cliff was awesome don’t get me wrong, but he wasn’t the be all end all of bassists.

just been listening to:

three days grace
nonpoint
black stone cherry

and now i want to rip something apart.

Jokin’ Jay-Z

Hero-Nas

Can’t Believe It-T-Pain

Pray-Jay-Z

Dope Boyz-The Game

Fallen Soldiers-Demarco

Does anyone know any GOOD Bob Marley remixes done recently?

And thank you for the suggestions so far.
There was one on the radio about 6 months back. I forget which track but it was wicked.

And the entire Chant Down to Babylon album is phenomenal.

Timbaland - Shock Value - This is the name of the album, I like all of it

Rick Ross - Hustlin’ - I like this song but it has a totally different effect from listening on headphones cos of the lack of bass they give

Madonna feat Timbaland & Timberlake - 4 minutes

Flo Ride feat Timbaland - Elevator

Thread is too big for me to read thru it all, so if it has been said before, sorry.

Not entirely lifting music, but

Eric McFadden - Devil Moon currently owns my iPod, along with

Cody ChesnuTT - The Headphone Masterpiece. If you like the Roots, check out their song The Seed V2.0 That features Cody ChestnuTT and that song is really his song they are playing. I prefer his version, but The Roots are great also.

As you noticed earlier, anything Busta with Break Ya Neck being my favorite song.

As for lifting songs in particular

Nelly’s #1 is still my pre-squat song.

and then believe it or not, I’ve been listening to a lot of M.I.A. Kala (the bonus track version with timbaland) when I lift. It isn’t aggressive, but the beats just get me in a groove.

Any Tool / APC for sure.

And finally, I will throw it out there for another odd choice that gets me going. If you like Surf rock, the Surf Coasters out of Japan have some lyric free surf rock that can carry you thru. It isn’t aggressive again, but it does the trick for me. Ok enough, I love music.

what do you guys think of the new metallica single?
They are trying to recapture “One” too hard, especially on the solo. I was disappointed with it and “cyanide” as well.

San Fransisco Knights- People Under the Stairs

a nice relaxing hip hop song

Not new music

BUT… I went to see…

Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell, Motorhead and Testament tonight.

I’ve already seen Priest… kick ass of course.

Heaven and Hell, for those that don’t know it, is Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler along with former members Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice… of Black Sabbath.

Long live metal.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned, but I recommend www.Pandora.com for finding new music.

It’s free; just make a new account. It plays songs by whichever artist you want and you rate them thumbs up or thumbs down. Based off of this, it plays similar songs that you might like by similar artists.
