New(ish) to Lifting. Ideal Diet?

Hi I’ve been lifting for around a year now and I havent made much progress I was wondering if some of the older wiser people on here could help me out

im 20yrs old 6ft and a student studying away from home at uni so would like any diet to be a cheap as possible

aiming to be around 200lb primarly training for strength with size being a nice side effect

At 6 feet you probably wont be happy at 200 lbs.

Chances are you aren’t happy with progress b/c you aren’t eating enough.

You don’t need a ‘diet’ where all you meals and macros are laid out the week before hand. But if you’re anal about that shit - I’m so clever  - you can.

A good starting point for you, without any history, would be 3000-3500 calories per day. Eat 300g protein a day and fill in the rest with the best fat/carbs you can afford.

If you aren’t gaining weight after 2 weeks, add 250-500 calories per day. Gaining too much fat, most likely not, subtract 250 calories per day.

You can still be healthy and look good with out eating expensive, 100% organic, grass fed, omega3 blah blah blah food.

The rest is up to you.

Im 6ft, 225lbs and I am still skinny as hell. Although it is better then when I was 175lbs, Im no where close to being considered big. As a very general guideline MAF14 started you off. All I can say is make food your best friend.

Thanks guys will put this into practise.

Eggs, oats and peanut butter… And milk if you tolerate lactose well or if not just buy some lactase.
