Very cool that you and your son are doing a meet together! What’s his bodyweight?
Strong genetics must be a family trait.
Thanks all. He’s having fun with the training. He deadlifted 405x1 fairly easy tonight. He’ll be competing in the 242’s. I need to find him a belt with a single hole. He couldn’t get my two hole belt tight at all. So he’s done all his lifts without a belt.

squats barx10 135x5 185x3 225x3 280x3 320x3 365x3 405x1 455x1 495x1
partial (1/3 squats) Anderson sqauts 495x3 545x3
sldl on 100 lb plate 315x5x5
calf raise 3 sets
I have a long way to go with my squats. 495 went up but it felt way to heavy. And my back was aching.
Did some conditioning last evening. Threw a little something together. Felt a bit queasy.
5 rounds:
push-up 15 reps
BW squats 20 reps
curl barx20
db clean and press 50x5 each arm
1 minute bike sprint (>100 rpm)
rest as needed

bench barx20 95x10 135x5 185x3 235x3 275x3 300x8 335x1 365x2
bb rows 245x5x10
straight bar curls 95x15
dips BWx26
If I wasn’t doing this with my son I would have skipped tonight. Going to drink a couple glasses of wine and sleep in tomorrow.
Big work on the bench deserves sleeping in.
Did you use to prefer whiskey
and diet coke?
GV, slept in until 9. Could have slept longer.
Harry, yes I did. But somewhere I convinced myself red wine was better for me. Like vitamin water for adults.

semi-sumo deads 135x5 225x3 315x3 365x3 405x3
squats 315x10 365x5
trap bar deads 315x5x10
My son squatted tonight. I jumped in after my deads for a couple sets. He’s having trouble making depth. Instead of calf raises he decided to do a set of 135x30.
He did (no belt)

3.leg curls 3 sets
4.squats 135x30
these are sneaky as fuk
secret hypertrophy and conditioning in one.
Your son’s squatting 405. You’re a good teacher.
Kev, I think you’re right about the 1 arm clean and press. I should do more of them.
Biker, thanks but I think he may just be a strong kid and I’m just watching him work.

looks like solid work going on in here…per usual…by not one but two strong dudes…hope all is well
Indeed some strong work
I like one arm db snatch - but I cant really do those currently.
( no spring in my velcro knee)
I do many db clean and press- and even light the volume does add up to swoledom
Thanks Paul.
Kevin, I almost did a few db clean+press today but didn’t feel like making the db after bench and rows.

My oldest loves the lifting gadgets. He just got a sling shot for bench and we made a 3 board for benching. He did a bunch of sets with the sling shot with 225 and 245 for sets of 3 reps. I gave the 3 board a try with one set. I liked it and may throw it in at the end of some bench workouts.

Hey lookie there, something we can both do with the same amount of weight.
Strong benching and it’s always cool to have great lifting gadgets.
Ha, ha, ha Mini you are funny.
Thanks GV. Gadgets are cool. I wanted to try the sling shot but his doesn’t fit me.

555 was a PR. I pulled 550 6 years ago at my last meet. Wasn’t planning on pulling heavy today it just happened.
Congrats on the PR. That is a big pull.
6 years in the making…Fuggin A right brother !!!
Great work pulling that 555 PR! Betting bigger numbers are around the corner.
