I just made the mistake of buying the new Audioslave album from I-Tunes. WOW, this suuuuucks! And it’s such a shame, because they’re one of my favorite new(er) bands! There’s not one – not ONE – tune on there that’s even remotely gym-worthy. Some of the slower songs are ok as far as slower songs go, but this album COMPLETELY fails to do what a rock n’ roll album is supposed to do: ROCK.
And for those of you wondering, yes, I did briefly listen to the song clips before buying the whole damn album, but I just figured that sometimes songs and albums take time to grow on you. Plus, they only give you a portion of each song, so I figured maybe I didn’t get a good feel for each song. Boy was I wrong. Suuuuuucks!!!
PLEASE, Velvet Revolver, don’t let your new album suck like Audioslave’s does! I’m really lookin’ forward to that one! Save me!!

Rest assured, it will rock. Matt Sorum, Velvet Revolvers drummer, just posted in his blog that the album will drop this spring, and preproduction is under way.
Spring?!? Fuuuuuuck!!! I thought it was going to be out before the end of the year!
Oh well.

I was listening to it on the way to work today (about half an hour). Although, as I said, some of the softer songs are ok as far as softer songs go, and have somewhat grown on me, the damn thing still just does NOT rock! And I’m afraid that’s not going to change. Still bummed.

Give it a couple of listens. I was completely unimpressed, but after about 3-4 trips through the album, it started to grow on me.[/quote]
Ripping it from the CD to my I-Pod right now, I’ll give it a listen on the way to class tonight. I like their softer stuff, and wasn’t expecting this one to be hard after the way Morello talked about it. So hopefully I won’t be bummed out.
