Is anyone going to pick up the new CD? It is supposed to be released on the 6th of March. It only took a decade to record.

I’ve heard of rock bands slowing down as they got older, but 10 years to record 74 minutes is ridiculous.
If it really truely comes out then I will buy it for sure. I’ve heard release dates for the past couple years so I’m not getting my hopes up. Hearing some of Axl’s new stuff through bootleg or concert footage was exciting and the album should be good.
According to Axl it is coming out on the 6th of March. I am not sure how good it will be. It seems like some records are better when they have more of a raw feel. I just hope that this record is not going to be over produced.

I just hope there is an actual record on that date. The biggest problem GNR will face now is that given how much hype and time this album has taken, if it is not flat out awe-inspiring, people are going to pan it heavily.
As far as I am concerned it is the Axl Rose ego show and has nothing to do with the rawness of the original lineup.

Agreed. That egotistical bastard needs to just go away. It’s not even G n’ R anymore. It’s just Axl and whoever would play with him. He’s not talented, can’t really sing and has had so much surgery to his face he doesn’t even look the same. I couldn’t care less what he comes out with…I will not waste my time.
Last I heard Izzy was back. He wrote a lot of the material on A.F.D

…and it’ll take another decade for me to have interest in their tired shit.

two words for Axl Rose.
Velvet Revolver
I used to love GnR before I got into underground black metal, death metal, etc. They had some good tunes, as far as pop rock goes. I hope their new album is more contemporary, industrial, electronic, folk, hell, ANYTHING but glam rock or punk. That stuff is dead, and it’s what GnR already did, anyway.
It might actually turn out better than their other albums. Unlike before, there is only 1 ego in the band. Their old stuff is overrated, besides a few good songs. I think this entire album has the potential to be good.
I need to take a break from the kvlt black metal anyway.
I saw them in concert a long time ago and I just can’t get into the whole “keep changing the line-up until Axl’s happy” thing. If the music rocks, I’ll listen, but I doubt I’ll buy.
I sure hope it’s as good as “The Spaghetti Incident”

hahahahahahahahaha
From the official GNR website in an “open letter from Axl Rose” that looks like it was written by a lawyer:
“this is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee, but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6”
Don’t hold your breath guys. I’m as big a fan of their recorded material as any, but as the years roll by I’m getting less and less enthusiastic about the new album.

No.
I think a better question would be “Who cares?”. A big shot to the jugular would be the best thing in the world for Axl’s ego.
Are they still calling the album “Chinese Democracy”? I heard that name five or six years ago when a few people actually cared. Axl reached a supreme level of douchebaggery after he failed to get the album out on the second announcement.
It will never be like “Appetite”. So i don’t really care all that much.
If it’s incredible, I’ll get it…if not, then fuck’em.
