?Net impact carbs?

Like many of you, I chart every micro nutrient I consume. Whether cutting, maintaining or going for mass, I log everything. (It eliminates the guess work!)

Problem: I purchased a box of Met-Rx Protein Plus bars (which has recently changed its formula). Each bar contains: 310 calories - 34 grams of Protein, which equals 116 calories- 8 grams of Fat, which equals 72 calories - and 26 grams of Carbs, which equals 104 calories… Or do they? The label also states: “This Protein Plus bar contains only 6 grams of net impact carbs.” Question: What the hell are “net impact carbs”? And how do I chart the remaining 20 carbs, which I guess would be termed “non impact carbs”? As regular carbs, as misc. calories (as I do with glycerin), or not at all…? Is the term “net impact carbs” just a marketing ploy by Met-Rx, or is this there actually something behind it? Any help from the Forum would be appreciated.

Follow-up: Called Met-Rx product info and was informed
that the 20 non “impact carbs” were from alcohol-sugars
like Xylitol and Sorbitol. Asked her if I should chart them
(the 20 non “impact carbs”) as miscellaneous calories or
as regular carbs. She said as miscellaneous calories.

Problem: After further scrutinizing the label, I can find
no listing for Xylitol or Sorbitol; the only alcohol-sugar
I found listed was Maltitol, which is in the chocolate coating.
So, I’m still at a loss as to what is in these bars, as are the
people who work in the product information department
at Met-Rx! Other label findings: Rapeseed and
cottonseed oil are the prime fat source. The bars also
contain animal collagen (aka cow hooves).
Any thoughts guys? Joey Z.
