Another chewing tobacco story from my youth. I didn’t realize I had so many.
I’m sitting in the family room drinking a can of pop. My big brother comes over with the same type of can and sits next to me. We’re talking and watching TV. I don’t realize that he’s not drinking from his can. He’s spitting in it. …Yep… You can see it coming…Somehow I accidentally pick up his can and take a drink. UGH!!!
It wasn’t funny at the time. Well, my brother laughed a lot.
At a party in high school a half full can of beer had been designated the communal ashtray. At about 2am this girl stumbles drunkenly into the smoking area (aka my buddy’s garage) and, yup, after a moment of breathless anticipation from everyone in the room, takes a hard slam off the can and proceeds to projectile vomit all over the place. Hilarity ensued.
Not defending chew. At all. However, is it really reasonable to compare the negatives of Sen Say’s 2-3 cans a day with, say Derek’s one dip a day?

I know. I feel bad for being so harsh about it… cuz I love Derek!
Outstanding dude!

Lol no worries ID, we all have vices.
I will say I do not have brown teeth here in America we invented the ability to brush our teeth and I also have a friend who is a dentist and get cleanings every 6 months.

I know of no one who “chews”.

That’s because the sale of chewing tobacco is illegal in Australia. I knew a few old fellas at my local R-ie(RSL Club) who chew. They order tins from America. One of them gave me a plug and told me to stick it above my top front teeth between my gums and lips. Only thing I got out of it was a slight burning sensation.

Stop doing that.
I got some dip when I was deployed. I accidentally swallowed instead of spitting. Fucking disgusting. I don’t smoke at all, was a shock to the system.
I used to chew fairly hardcore, tin every couple days. Quit about 5 years ago, miss it every now & then, especially during long drives, movies, camping, etc.
As far as body building. . .it was much easier to stay or get lean, now I roll about 10 pounds heavier on average, but I’m much stronger & find concentrating while working out easier.
Interesting side as far as dental issues, while I was chewing my dentist would rave about how nice & healthy my enamel looked. She hasn’t said anything about it since I’ve quit.
Also nicotine may be good for preventing alzheimer’s.
I always laugh when I hear people call dip “chew”. They’re totally different! I think that’s why I’ve seen about three or four people try dip for the first time by putting it in their mouths and then chewing it like Redman or Levi Garrett. I never say anything to them until it’s too late.
Used to dip for a period of a few months, only 1-2 small pinches a day typically. Made my gums start to get a bit sensitive, so I stopped. Smoked for a little over a year, 2-3 a day, but towards the end of deployment decided to stop, just a waste of money, and for something that not only isn’t good for you, but is bad. The tobacco part, not necessarily the nicotine by itself of course.
One thing I always noticed about tobacco in general is that it unsettles my stomach for half an hour or so. Do not like.

Or the other, someone take Levi and try to put it in their lip.

For some reason I feel so much better about chewing than dipping. Just feels more natural to me… dunno why
Dipped for the first time when I was 13. Rode my bike home and puked. Used to give my dad shit about dipping.
Then I started while working graveyard shifts in college to stay awake. Usually average 3-4 a day. Generally do pouches because I work with mostly women and getting the loose shit out is a pain. Always Cope.
Id say its pretty much an appalachin thing (PA, OH, WV, TN, NC…etc).
