Need to straighten my legs days out.

Just like I never get hypertrophy on my right forearm from constant masturbation.

‘Why are you doing cleans?’

My traps have grown more with Olys than they ever did with shrugs or even deads.
Plus have you seen CT’s pics his back is solid!

But I actually do them for my martial arts, just happens that they help me gain muscle.

Thanks for all the responses. Who says i am training for hypertrophy? I could care less how i look (as far as hypertrophy and bodybuilding go), i care about how much weight i can lift.

Okay, yeah, I did bash on olympic lifts a little more than I intended to. I didn’t mean that they can’t induce hypertrophy, and I definitely didn’t mean that they are worthless by any means, but yeah, I can understand how it came across like that.

My main intent with the post was that it looks like he is trying to specialize in too much. If you are really pushing your strength in deads, squats, and cleans, then your posterior chain is going to be one sore motherfucker! It’d be a quick route to overtraining, at least for me, and most people I’ve lifted with.

A person can use all three in a training cycle, but you’re not going to make huge gains consistently. If I was going to do that, it would only be to use one lift to bring up another. Example: clean strength is lagging because maximal strength needs to increase. If this was the case, you could add in heavy deads for a few weeks, and it would more than likely stimulate the progress you are looking for. There could be other good reasons too, like how big martin uses cleans for high reps for conditioning purposes. I just think he should asses his intentions and decide if doing all three is really going to be beneficial.

So you want to be strong, do you bobo? Well, again I ask: what for? I don’t mean to insult when I say this, but I don’t think you really know what for. You’ve got three very good yet similar exercises here, but you don’t even know what days to do the prescribed work on, so there seems to be some confusion on your part. Again, not insulting you. There are many programs written in the mag specifically for strength (Westside, baby!), find one that suits your needs, and do the cleans on whatever day it says to do them on:)

By all means, if you guys still disagree with me, argue your point. I wouldn’t mind finding out I’m wrong if it means I’m wiser.

Sorry about the confusion,
Ryan

Some years ago Mac Callum proposed to start with power cleans 3 reps and keep on adding weight. Then start High pulls 3 reps always adding weight. Then Deadlifts 3 reps. When you are not able to perform 3 reps anymore, do a couple of singles.

Once again how is any of this going to help bobopunx make his legs straight? Man needs his legs straightened for Gods sake someone help him. Is there a doctor in the T-house

Bruno do you have any ideas? Maybe we can tie ropes to my legs and have someone pull me across the street.

I have to preface my statemnet by saying I am not a doctor but I’m sure the treatment wouold depend on the type of curvature your legs exibit. For example do they buckle in or bow out (“X” or “O”).

I also noticed my need to “straighten” my statement
