Need the Supplement Mythbusters

my uncle just started selling the Ageless products (Agless xtra and Ageless essentials). He has been in the fitness game for a long time but i cant help but wonder if these products are truly worthwhile.

here is a link to some info on them http://www.squidoo.com/agelessxtra

im hoping the famous supplement mythbusters of T-Nation can give me the downlow on the products. has anyone tried them? has anyone heard of them?

What I saw was a hard to navigate website that gave very little information. Took me a while to find out what was in the products. I only looked at a couple of products, and really found overpriced vitamins.

The little “Science of aging” is a complete joke. But they lost all credibility with me when they said that if something is a liquid, it doesn’t need to be digested.

But it doesn’t really matter because I doubt a single person is going to buy anything. I look at the website, and there really is nothing there to convince anyone of anything. It’s a 5 second website because anyone who goes there will only spend 5 seconds there.

It’s so obviously bullshit that I feel bad that you need a “mythbuster” to figure that out. Seriously.

.

Garrr. I hate affiliate sales pages… are these even real questions?

i was afraid this would be the case.

does anyone know of anything specifically wrong with these products. i know they look like bullshit but is there any convincing proof like a bad ingredient or something or are they just overpriced vitamins?

Usually your first isntinct is right. I couldn’t help but notice a link to a Quixtar review. I’ve had a couple people approach me with this. It’s just another MLM and is enough reason to stay away from anything on this site.

I’ve been known to pop a vitamin or two

I took a look at this website and I am thinking that it is more hype than anything else.

For example:

One of their products is “Ageless Prime.”

Here are the main ingredients in one capsule:

Riboflavin (as riboflavin-5-phosphate) 1.5 mg

Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxal-5-phosphate) 1.5 mg

Vitamin B12 400 mcg

Chrysin 135 mg

Wolfberry extract (fruit) 200 mg

N-Acetyl Cysteine 100 mg

Acetyl-L-Carnitine 60 mg

Alpha Lipoic Acid 50 mg

DIM (diindoylmethane) 15 mg

7-Keto DHEA 15 mg

DHEA 7 mg

Maxcell? Proprietary Blend 25 mg

1.5 mgs. of two important B vitamins? And that’s only the beginning.

There are not enough ingredients (or the proper ingredients) in one of these capsules to retard the aging of a gnat!

The whole idea behind preventative aging through nutrients (still experimental) is to consume an abundance of certain key nutrients.

A-They don’t have most of these key nutrients in this mixture. I would name the ones that they are leaving out but it would take a great deal of time. Things such as “Selenium” “glutathione” “Carnosine” etc…Suffice it to say that most of the nutrients that might retard aging are not in this product.

B-What they do have, such as Acetyl-L-Carnitine, are not in sufficient quantities to make a difference. “60 mg” is a joke. Credible people in the field of anti-aging through nutrition recommend at least 500 mg to 1000 mg per day. That means you would have to take about 10 of those pills per day in order to get a sufficient amount of that one nutrient.

C-The price of this product is $71.50 per bottle. I have no idea how many are in the bottle as it was not clear on the page that I was on. However, the bottle that I’m looking at does not look all that large. If you have to take 10 of these per day it’s pretty clear that you would be reordering faster than when your buddy says “drinks are on me.”

I have no idea as to the quality of the actual supplement. But if it’s like the price and how it is marketed…I would say stay away from it. There are many others far more credible in this business.

Aside from what Zeb said, which is very accurate, it looks like a pyramid setup.

The new twist on an old theme is this- The vitamins are useless and overpriced. You won’t make any money selling them in face to face contact. Your controller tells you that you would make a hell of a lot more if you had a website. They tag you for 5-7 grand to set you up your own website, and als drop the hint that the commission for selling someone a web page or two is phenominal. Sell a few of these a month and you will be set for life, yadda yadda yadda…

They aren’t selling vitamins. They are selling web pages. The vitamins are just the hook.

Did your uncle purchase a web page package yet?

thanks for the info

im gonna mention the webpackage thing to the rest of my family so that we can hopefully stop that from happening
