Need Some Rock Music Help

Hmm, Metallica era thrash metal:

Death Angel (New Zealand’s finest)
Exodus
Megadeth
Metal Church
Mortal Sin
Nuclear Assault
Testament

And any rock enthusiast should own some of:

AC/DC
Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Led Zeppelin

And the bands Metallica were greatly influenced by:

Budgie
Diamond Head
Motorhead

That lot and everything else mentioned should see you right!

SAY WHAT again?!??!? I mean, he sure seems it, but is this fact?[/quote]

Backstage, eyewitness account.

He has not come out though.

Dude, since you like hip-hop, the ticket is Living Colour. They are a metal band with a funk edge.

for a great motivated workout you’ll have to sample some mushroomhead.

Get rid of evanescence (sp?), and linkin park, there are only so many songs one band can reasonably make about a shitty girlfriend, and linkin park surpassed that limit, for a career, on their first album. But, if Rock music is what you looking for, try these:

Devil Driver
Trivium
Children of Bodom
In Flames
Tool
Pantera
Days of the New (not really good for w.o. time, but EXCELLENT guitar work)
Buckcherry (same issues as DofNew
Korn (just look for the ‘Best of’ most of their work is pretty hit or miss. They are kind of the Jay-Z of Rock in that regard)

That should put you at a great starting point.

Oh, and as much as I love A Perfect Circle, they don’t really ‘rock’. In fact, I would rate most of Tori Amos’ work to be harder then APC.

Add:
Billmelater
momancer
grew7
and old bailey-

GREAT lists

Additionally, if you want to SEE some very hard rock, I believe In Flames should be on their way down LA (I saw them in PDX about a week and a half ago, AWESOME show).

Hands down, my favorite single track for when I REALLY need to get pumped is “By Demons be Driven” off of Pantera’s Vulgar Display of Power album.

“Fucking Hostile” is another good one off that album.

RIP Dimebag!

I’ve not heard of Silvertide. I’ve heard of the other 2 but cannot recall hearing anything. Thanks for the recommendations Jana, I will check them out.

Schup, I like A Dozen Furies.

Also, check out 36 Crazyfists, they’re your style, some rhyme, some scream…tight.
