Need ideas

I would like some ideas on something I could take for lunch. Please no fast food. I am on the road alot so it is hard to eat cold chicken and rice all the time know what I mean.

What are your diet goals? Bulk? Cut?

If your looking to bulk up with lots of protein and good calories I have some suggestions. I like stuff that’s quick, like cheese blocks, packages of pepperoni, lunch meats like turkey or ham, natural peanut butter, beef sticks are good, you can also find microwaveable bacon, beef jerkey, tuna fish is good for a while, or even pre cook some other types of fish, salmon or orange roughy…

UM what about Grow? or the new meal replacement bars?

I would like to bulk. I would also like to stay away from deli meat a cheese blocks
Thanks guys

Hi Mook. I know this might sound a little off the beaten track, but how about tamales? There is a market/deli close to where I live that makes them by hand, and I asked the cook if she would make a batch to order. I usually ask for chicken, no lard, green peppers and corn (my recipe), but many of their regular recipes work with my diet restrictions. They come pre-cooked so you can warm them up for a couple of minutes in any micro-wave, add a protein drink of some kind and you’re ready to munch. Great calories, tastes great and a fairly high (for prepared foods) protein content. This cook will make most any recipe I ask for.

A great quick food is fat free cottage cheese with pineapple chunks. 2 C. cottage cheese yields around 52 grams of protein. I also like to grab a quart of skim milk and chug it down if I am in a hurry.

I work on the road for about 10 years now, and the only way I can get good nutrition is through MRPs. I prepare 2 MRPs in skim milk before I leave and put them in a mini cooler with maybe some cheese and nuts. I have a little compartment for my supplements as well. Actually, I can’t cheat on the road and I have a much better nutrition than when I am on hollidays. For me, I can’t live without MRPs.
