This is just the tip of the iceberg, but if chest and biceps are the priorities, why aren’t they trained first in the training split when you’re fresh?
Eric,
That’s a good question. I have two questions regarding this:
-
Are you really ever “fresh” during the on-cycle? Maybe I could move bi and chest to the front of the week on the off-cycle.
-
I figure that doing full squats and deads would be extremely demanding, and should be first.
What do you think?
Oh, and I got my BF% to the point where I can see my abs a little, and I still have 2.5 weeks until the Mag-10 cycle to lose more fat.
Also, cardio is not recommended during the on-cycle. Is this simply because of calories? Since light cardio is supposed to help get fresh blood into the muscles, could I do a little bit of cardio if I can eat to make up for it?
I agree with everything Char said, except the recommendation of going with the Growth Surge project.
I hate that program.
Sorry Neil, you may feel like it is “too late” since you’ve already ordered the Mag-10, but you need to go and read Goldbergs post about attitude.
You are looking for a crutch to make up for your lack of experience, effort, and committment. I don’t care how old someone is, prohormones should be left to the experienced lifters who know their bodies and their limits.
I am not one of these people.
I have about 8 years of lifting experience, only about 8 months of smart lifting under my belt. By SWALLOWING MY EGO, listening to the forum vets, reading my ass off, and actually TRYING some of the programs on this webiste (not for 3 days but for the reccomended time), I have made gains I never would have believed.
You should try the same before wasting more money on supps you have no idea how to use.
Another note - I know how hard it is to accept someone knowing more than you - especially at your age.
I am not much older. I remember what it was like to be a cocky teenager. Fuck, I’m a cocky 22 year old.
But if people like Ike, Goldberg, Joel Marion, or Landon speak, I shut the fuck up and listen. They’re my age, or younger.
Why? You should know why. And you should try doing the same.
Rumbach,
“You are looking for a crutch to make up for your lack of experience, effort, and committment.”
That couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, I lack experience, but I don’t think you know my level of effort and committment. I have my reasons for choosing to use Mag-10, and I’d wish that people wouldn’t pass judgement without knowing those reasons.
Also, if my level of committment was “low”, then I wouldn’t spend time putting together my own programs and dietary plans. I’d just pick some easy looking program from T-Mag and do it half-assed.
Now please, could we get back to the topic?
I have given up on you.
There are reasons that some young “newbies” like myself seem to get useful advice and help around here, which is invaluable. And reasons why others get flamed and put in the reader mail.
Cheers.
damn, you are dumb for taking mag-10. It is not too late. I’m sure since you made an ass out of yourself in reader mail that they would take the order back, as long as it is not opened.
JWright,
Did you get my PM?
neil,
the fact that you are 18 and training only one year, and are saying things like putting priority on chest and bicepts is enough to make me spit!
you do not need to “focus” on any one area for gods sake. the first 4 years i trained i did 5 exercises, 3 times a week, bench, push-press, squat, deadlift, powerclean. that is it. i took no supplements, just ate everything i could!
you think WAAAAY to much about this stuff.
want to stop getting flamed? PM me, i will send you a basic program, follow it for 12 weeks, DO NOT POST ANYMORE BULLSHIT in that time period, and PM me back when the 12 weeks are over. you need to learn to walk before you can start sprinting.
good luck,
heavy
Neil,
I’d take that offer from Heavythrower if I were you. That’s exactly the right idea to get you going.
Growth Surge Phase II + Massive Eating = 12 Lbs Lbm in two weeks
MAG-10 has a storage life of three years. You don’t have to take it immediately just because you ordered it. You also don’t have to send it back and lose the postage. You can just stick it in your fridge for a while and forget about it. Which is what you should do.
You should also take heavythrower up on his offer. That’s the other thing you should do.
Believe me - and this is not a flame - if you’re asking about why there’s no cardio in the GSP you’re a long way from needing to use anything more potent than plain old food. Seriously. Honestly.
Also, if my level of committment was “low”, then I wouldn’t spend time putting together my own programs and dietary plans. I’d just pick some easy looking program from T-Mag and do it half-assed.
Well, no, if your level of commitment was HIGH you would pick a program from T-Mag and work your ass off. You would also keep a food log and eat everything in sight. Putting together your own programs and eating plans at your level of experience just means you’re too cocky to understand just how much you DON’T know.
“Putting together your own programs and eating plans at your level of experience just means you’re too cocky to understand just how much you DON’T know.”
Then why did I post asking questions…?
heavythrower is speaking the Gospel! When I
started training (over 20 yrs ago), it took me about
4 yrs to hit my first “real” plateau. Why don’t you
re-post this thread when you hit yours, and are in
need of such a product! (And stop this silliness!)
P.S. One day a wiser and more mature NeilG is
going to look back at his T-mag posting and say -
“What was I thinking, man!” :-0
Neil,
“Then why did I post asking questions…?”
Why are you posting asking questions and ignoring the sensible advice of many people with much more experience then you?
WOW Niel, that is a great plan. I think I am going to use it. Could you plan one for me too? I would like to gain some lean mass while losing as much fat as possible. I would also like to eat as much saturated fat as I can while standing on my head with the lights out. Screw these T-mag guys. They dont know what they are talking about.
Since my back is lagging, could you make the primary movement of my routine be wide grip one armed pull ups?
