Need Advice to Sell Eleiko Weights

Hi,
I am looking to sell some Eleiko weights for my brother. He was sent overseas for work and they have been in my attic for over a year. He asked me to sell them for him. Any ideas on good forums or places to post? I apologize if this isn’t the best place to ask. They are expensive and I don’t know if Craigslist folks around Boston would be the best audience. I appreciate any advice offered.

Thanks!

Craigslist Boston.

Maybe see if a crossfit gym near you has a bulletin board you could pin a flyer up on.

See, this is where you can get itsy bitsy tiny plates to inch your numbers up one tiny plate at a time.

Alas, I already have some.

But YOU dont.

Craigslist Boston would totally be worth the few minutes it takes to throw an ad up. Just expect to have people haggle with you.

We should at least help this person from getting ripped off.

That’s some nice equipment there. Some eleiko bars go up to $1200.

what do we think, $300 for the lot? $400?

Lol I see what you did there

You should be able to get $1500 for the lot, dont sell quickly though there will be someone willing to pay big money for them but you might have to wait a while.

I was actually quite serious. But I am not sure exactly what bar that is, which obviously makes a huge difference. Eleiko is some of the most expensive equipment out there, but I highly doubt they would get $1500 for it all.

Generally speaking, a good starting point is HALF of what was paid for it (when selling used goods). If the lot was $1500, then start at $750.

Can anyone find these online for new? I didn’t try that hard but everything seems to be in kg only for this brand and the picture clearly has a 45 and 25lb plates.

Eleikos are obviously valuable to the right buyer, but the question is, who NEEDS them badly enough to give him what they’re worth? I can only think of USAPL meet directors, but there must be others, right?

OP, the value is in the craftsmanship and the calibration (ie, the 45lb are EXACTLY 45lbs, to within a few grams. Typical plates can vary by 5 - 10%), so you have to find somebody who NEEDS to know the precise weight of what they’re lifting, or is simply into lifting enough to recognize them for what they are, and think it’s cool enough to pay for it

Yup.

And if they put them up on craigslist NOW given enough time in a densly populated area like BOSTON, they should be able to get a good piece of money for it all in a matter of a month or three.

Hell, do not sell them. Start Training! That is a good start.

seriously. load up that bar and pick it up.

The bar is Eleiko too, I think it’s even the competition bar rather than just the training as it looks like it has the thicker collars. I wouldn’t even contemplate selling all that stuff for less than $1500, anyone who actually knows what OP has would give him that. If I was in the US and lived near I’d lay down $2k easy.

The bar has the white caps, which I’m pretty sure means it’s the Training bar.

That said, it’s still a $950 bar, new. Eleiko | Strength Equipment Crafted for Performance

Since I was already on the site, here’s the current prices for the new equipment.

Mens’ Training Bar: $950
2 x 45 lb: $600
2 x 25 lb: $400
2 x 10 lb: $120
2 x 5 lb: $100
2 x 2.5 lb: $80
2 x 1.25 lb: $60
Lock-Jaw Collars: $30

Total: $2,340

For new, unused equipment, without shipping. For reference.

OP:

I’ll give you $165, but you pay shipping to IL.

Ah you’re right about the white collars. Not worth quite as much as I thought then, I was thinking it might mean the plates were competition as well. I still think the OP should get 1.5k though, everything looks like it’s in pristine condition and eleiko bars/plates don’t really depreciate in price that much.

Do you still have these? I’m a coach for my local high school (Lassiter in Marietta, GA) track team (throwers). They gave me some funding to get equipment…and Eleiko stuff is high on the list.
