Need a Plan to Prepare for Football

Okay will start today thanks!

Well i tried it today but had to end a bit early because my parents got mad at me for working out after dinner even though it was like an hour and a half after. I do have some questions though.

  1. When i was doing squats my knees hurt on my way up is that normal?

  2. When i do bench press i feel it more in my arms then on my chest is there anything from with that?

  3. When i was doing single legged deadlifts my back was kind of arched i cant get it to be straight while bending over any help with that?

Thanks for any help guys!

You need to work on your form.

  1. Make sure yo sit back into the squat. Get your feet set, arch your back with your chest out and your back pressing into the bar. Move you hips back about 10" and then sit down by bending your knees. Comae back up the same way as when you went up. Make sure your feet are pointing out slightly and thatyour knees track over your toes.

  2. That’s normal, it doesn’t mean your chest is not working, just that your arms are currently your weak point.

  3. Arched is good, rounded is not. I think you mean rounded. Use a lower weight until you have your form down. Get someone to watch you. Arch your back before pulling and keep the arch throughout.

first of all learn the lifts correctly, HIGHER THE BEST PERSON YOU CAN to teach you how to powerclean , squat , and deadlift, then start downing protein shakes and eating more,
also a good track coach can do wonders for speed!

The posters have all made excellent suggestions, but I sense you may be confused. Contact the football coach, tell him you’re interested in playing and ask him about any off-season conditioning program the team runs. If they don’t have scheduled sessions (which I would doubt) ask him for a workout plan you could do on your own and the name of someone who would be willing to show you proper form on the exercises. I feel lucky, one of the coaches at mu kid’s 's small high school is a former college linebacker and competitive powerllifter so he makes sure our kids know what they’re doing.

sorry i havent been able to post i have been grounded and can only use computer on weekends…either way i have been going to the weight room and a gym teacher did help me with my deadlifts and things so if i ask they will help on form and stuff. The only thing i havent tried yet is the power clean. This plan here http://www.T-Nation.com/article/most_recent/stripped_down_hypertrophy seems pretty good to me and i can do the right excercises as well. Do you think i can use it?

That’s a good program but I disagree on the 5 days/wk. Do it 3 days a week and you will be OK. I believe that if you do 5 day/wk you will overtrain unless you have built up the ability to train that intensly and you know your body well enough to recognize the signs that you have gone to far.

If you cannot fir a helmet on your head with your turban, is there a way you put it on like the older man’s (assuming it’s your father). I don’t know much about that culture but it would seem that it wouldn’t affect putting a helmet on then.

To the person above that is a good suggestion but the only problem is that his gets lose very fast. Also Ever since i started working out I have hearing that i have been losing weight alot. I personally dont see it but my parents are getting pretty worried. They said that they are going to get me protien shakes and powder so i really dont mind but i dont want them to get any crappy walgreens or King Kullen protien which kind of protien powder do you reccomend.

Allright i have been doin the plan for the while and i think i am getting stronger bit by a bit. I think i am having problems though. Latley within the last week i have been feeling extremly weak or lazy and when i start my workout i just get tired after like one excercise. I dont know whats the matter with me.

Its gotten to the point where i dont even go to my basement ot play video games because i dont feel like going downstairs. I feel like i need an energy boost or something. Is this normal or is something seriously wrong with me. Now i havent worked out for nearly 4 days and havent had a hardcore workout for about a week.

You’re probably not eating enough.

eat more food.
I think people overthink the quality of protien powder, if it’s not as high in BV as others, just take more of it. Get a gnc gold card and get it on the first of the month. I spend like 35$ for 80 servings of protein.

By food I think good carbs will be good for energy, especially PWO. Honestly some days after lifting I just lie down in bed with th elights off for a few hours without sleeping, I know what the exhaustion is like.

Yes. And try drinking a 1/2 gallon of milk every day.
