Neck-Specific Exercises

Got a giraffe neck…looking for exercises to increase muscle mass in my neck. I tried to google it but couldn’t find much. All i do at the moment is 6 sets of 8-12 shoulder shrugs. Any one know anything real specific for my neck?

“edit” i work every other part of my body as well lol…but dont isolate my neck…

Article on neck training.

I see very little benefit to neck training unless you do a contact sport. I doubt it’s gonna so much bigger just by doing some neck exercises. If you are skinny, which is probable since you have a pencil neck, just gain 20 lbs and it should solve the problem.

that neck exercise link is about and stregnth and performance…any one got anything concentrating on mass building?

You mean mass building…in the neck? Huh yeah sure just work up to a heavy triple on Neck Curls!

Lay on a bench, let your head hang over the edge, and do neck flexions against gravity. To add resistance, wear a bike helmet with some plates fastened to it. You might want to do this at home to avoid looking ridiculous.

The neck is CRITICAL to a man’s appearance. Like cheekbones, the brow ridge, facial hair, voice depth, etc. the neck sends signals about one’s degree of masculinity, and people pick up on this subconsciously. I had my neck immobilized a few years ago due to a bad disk, and when I got the collar off, the atrophy of my neck muscles had destroyed my entire appearance. I looked outright feminine and I couldn’t stand to be seen for weeks.

If you want to look good, train neck. And you get a bigger neck the same way you make any other muscle bigger… by fucking training it.

Yeah and don’t forget the loaded masseter flexions for that massive jaw width…go easy at first or you’ll have to eat your steak with a straw for a week.

my gym actually has a neck training machine, i’ve never seen anyone use it, mma and grappling guys might benefit from it but from a bb perspective it’s of little use.

rolling bjj and grappling you can do exercises pressing your head into the mat lifting your body weight etc., these things as mentioned have utility just not in bb.

“Competitor 6 is noted for the cross striated fibers of his scalenus anterior.”

“he sure is conditioned Bert, he’s stepping on stage at sub 1% bf.”
