Gotta focus on the flop because LBJ’s game was flawless.
Well they did only win by 2pts…
And?
35pts on 14-22 shooting, 10 Reb, 3 assists, 2 steals and 4 T/O.
Pretty hard to do better than that. He also shut down Tony Parker in the 4th.
Yes, he had a good game, but in total the game was decided by 2 pts so the flop absolutely had an impact.
True.
But they’re focusing on the flop because they can’t criticize LBJ’s performance. That’s generally been the focus of this thread the last few years during the playoffs.
If you want to pick a defining moment how about when Chalmers was called for a flagrant on Parker and Parker proceeded to bonk 2 FT followed by another 2 missed ones immediately after?
Wades flopping and dirty play was the deciding factor, why wouldn’t that be the focus?
And how did you come to the conclusion this was the deciding factor? One play in the 2nd quarter of all plays?
The Spurs had plenty of chances to win this game but they blew it. The story of this game was Lebron’s stat line + his shut down of Parker in the 4th.

James flops as bad as anyone a solid 5 times a game. Doesn’t really matter though 'cause it’s all for the theatrics. Game 1 he looked just fine driving on Diaw then immediately pulls up lame. Game 2 Wade is standing less than 3 feet from the ref who’s STARING RIGHT AT HIM yet still gets three most ridiculous call of the year. San Antone then misses 4 consecutive ft’s in the 4th and James gets easy buckets all night to pad his line. All part of the machine’s manufactured drama. Like I said, the league is gonna do their best to hand James a 3-peat. They’re just getting sloppy with their WWF storyline. Honestly might not watch the rest of the Finals. Shit’s just too suspect and the bullshit overrides the basketball.

That would’ve been enough to win the game.
This. The odds of that happening? Extremely low. Gotta close that shit out.
The spurs shot themselves in the foot with the missed free throws, but wade should be assembled of himself. It’s complete disrespect for the officials and the game for that level of flopping. 0% chance i stay up to watch the end of anymore of these games. Maybe on the weekend, but even still.

Trust me, I wish I were wrong. Sucks that I’m not. James has been blatantly handed two consecutive championships. The league will do it’s best to keep the trend going.
Man, I’m a longtime Spurs fan, but I can’t buy the conspiracy stuff. Why isn’t the MVP with all the commercials in the finals instead of the boring ass Spurs?

Rematch’s bring ratings. So does the contrast in styles. Everyone knows SA won last year. Shady reffing and some questionable defensive decisions kept MIA in. Trust me, SA got theirs in the early/mid 2000’s. If it was about basketball the last 3 Finals would’ve been INDY/SA. No one outside of true fans would watch that, and the league has too much riding on James not to continuously push him through.
lebron moves the needle weather it’s hate, or fanboys. Would the average channel surfer give 2 shits about the finals if it were the pacers vs. spurs, doubtful but when people see it’s lebron theyll watch.
The league needs to tell the refs less is more, just make sure there are no fist fights on the court.

So when Kobe won those titles, were they conspiracy also?

IIRC WF asserts that Kobe is the one superstar who routinely never got calls.

The year the Lakers beat Sacramento in the WCF, most definitely.

He is the leagues only blacksheep superstar, and gets nowhere near the ref favoritism his position “warrants”, but… Sacramento beat 'em. Point blank, 100%, the Kings got robbed. Dynasties, manufactured or otherwise, bring ratings. I also believe LA beat the Celtics in their first most recent series. The league gave Garnett his ring, and having the Celts back on top is/was good for the league. Does everyone forget Pierce being rolled off in a wheelchair only to come back and nail two three’s? How much more WWF can it get? Also notice how that’s NEVER shown or talked about anymore? It was too suspect so the league acts like it never happened.
Conspiracy Theory Guy where are you? I know you have an explanation for this.
It’s all part of a scheme to get LeBron to go to . Unless he stays in Miami, and then that Melo rumor will come true and LeBron will carry Melo to his first ring in a redemption moment for the ages!
