Some bad calls last night. Looks like the Cavs are gonna take a Canadian with the #1 pick two years in a row. How many do-over’s can one team get?
Last year’s #1 was a reach, from what I have read Wiggins is legit.

Cavs also drafted Tristan Thompson in 2011
Said last year it was an awful pick. They grabbed a guy they could’ve gotten at #12 with #1. Wiggins can be abetter Rudy Gay. Playing next to Irving would be the best possible situation for him.

Thing is unless there’s a clear gem in the draft how can you really blame them?

Not as big a jump as Bennett last year but people were criticizing the Raptors GM at the time for taking Terrence Ross #8. Looking back, there really isn’t anyone behind him I would say that I would’ve wanted more. Maybe Andre Drummond?

I don’t like the Gay comparison if only because Wiggins projects to be an excellent defender.

But I do like Wiggins (ie. his ceiling) ahead of Parker.

No idea on Embiid, or if the majority of teams still believe that an active 7-fter is the rarest of NBA commodities.

Who should the Cavs have drafted last year instead of Bennet? Carter-williams, i’ll keep Kyrie over the roy.

^^ With 20-20 hindsight, Oladipo looks pretty clear-cut.

He’s got the full grown body and NBA-level athleticism, optimistically he becomes another L Deng type player.

He’s only 6’4" and is a 1/2 guard. I’d rather have Dion Waiters, who was already on the cavs roster. Last year’s draft sucked in every way.

I still think Bennet can play in the league, he’s only 20 and has a ridiculous body type. Just needs confidence and some cardio.

Almost put that, but I don’t know if he has the drive to be an elite defender. Honestly, strictly from a physical standpoint he reminds me of a more athletic Scottie Pippen. Same wiry build, crazy long arms, everything.

Know nothing about Embiid but a couple of sites have him going #1, and at least one comparing him to a young Olajuwon. While comparing him to the best center of the modern era is fucking retarded, the kid should be good. I mean, he’s coming into a league with less than five true centers. He should be able to do well.

So is OKC done?

Doesn’t really seem like they have a chance without Ibaka.

Really seems like it.

I don’t feel as bad about the Blazers being destroyed by SA now.

Chances the Spurs sweep OKC?

I feel like the miami will get to finals with a real easy path, and then get smashed by the spurs who have ran the gantlet to the finals.

Not only that, but i’m sure everyone on the spurs roster had nightmares about last years finals and have been mentally preparing for a rematch.

I think so. They have talent with Durant and Westbrook and some serviceable bigs to fill in, but losing a key piece like Ibaka (81 GP, 32.9 MIN) this late is makes it very hard to adjust.

I was rooting for the Thunder because I like watching them, but I think a Spurs Heat rematch would be the best Finals. Last year’s Finals was a lot of fun.

I can see them sweeping OKC after that bitchslap of game 2, but I hope OKC wins at least one game.

SAS are in a whole other dimension this year.

If you haven’t heard Mark Jackson said LBJ is the greatest small forward ahead of Larry Bird during the broadcast the other night. Personally I am not a huge fan a comparing players across generations, but I am curious to know what people think. Of course on ESPN’s FT Skip and Stephen had a stupid argument since ESPN ensures they constantly disagree. In the research I have done I think it is close, will be interesting to see on LBJ’s career finishes. However I am 25 (born in 1988) so I never saw Larry play.

LBJ has 4 MVPs while Bird has 3 MVPs
LBJ has 2 titles while Bird has 3 titles
LBJ has more PPG while Bird had more RPG
Interestingly the number of almost identical for STPG and BLKPG, though I think LBJ gets the edge on defense
Bird clearly had the edge as a shooter

Different players, both were great.

It is abundantly clear that the NBA is doing their best to ensure James gets a 3-peat so he can be up there with Jordan and Bryant. The league is a fucking joke.

Don’t even need to watch the games to know this is true.

Jesus Christ the refs just missed a major goaltend

Thoughts on reffing of game 6?

The NBA is probably the worst at trying to hide refs wanting series to go longer. But Miami really didn’t need the refs in these playoffs. It’s not their fault that they had the easiest road to the Finals of any team the last decade or so.

Now calls in the past 2 years Miami/Indy series are another story.

I’ve gotta say, I’m not so sure the fix is in for another Spurs loss in the Finals.

Also interesting that the good ole 2-3-2 format is gone, its def been awhile on that.
