I just want to say that there is no way LeBron James is 260lbs. Everytime I hear about this guy he gets bigger and stronger. I heard one analyst last year say he was 270lbs. BULLSHIT. He came in the league at a shade under 240, and I’d say he’s around 250 or so now. Everyone talks about how “thick” he is, but he looks pretty damn wiry to me.
For reference, Jamal Mashburn was an inch shorter but went about 245 and he was significantly thicker than James. It drives me nuts that everything about James gets the big fish treatment.[/quote]
I’ll agree. LBJ came in at 240, he’s maybe 250 now. Dwight Howard came in at 245 and is 270 now, and he doesn’t look any more ‘filled out’ than LeBron, even though being four inches taller. The thing with LeBron is that he has big shoulders and arms, which makes him look thicker than what he weighs.
You can also make the Olajuwon/Ewing reference, where Olajuwon played at 255 and Ewing played at 240, even though Ewing looked much thicker than Hakeem.

What a fuckin’ wanker. I never intended that to be any kind of analysis, maybe the sentence about Big Z at the beginning of my post was a clue (i.e the subject of the post, how with Big Z Miami looks pretty big). Thanks for clearing up that Chalmers is 6’1, always thought he was 6’3.
Then you went off and actually plugged in the numbers to show that the Miami starters are virtually the same height as the Laker starters. And you failed to account for Miami’s bench while you mentioned 1 player on the Laker bench that actually contributes, showing your incredible bias to that particular franchise.

I don’t understand this. Matthews played really well for Utah, especially once they traded Brewer. Maybe they really believe in CJ Miles. I guess Portland thinks Matthews can fill in for Webster.

The difference with Dream and Ewing is that Olajuwon was really lean [at least in his prime], while Ewing always kinda looked soft. See, to me Howard is significantly thicker than James, yet they want us to believe they’re damn near the same size. Howard has giant shoulders and arms, proportionately. James just looks like a wiry strong dude to me. He just happens to be 6’8" or so.

Yeah I guess so. Good for Matthews though for getting a big offer. Miles is good, but Matthews is better. At least they got Al Jefferson.

Yeah Dwight’s upper body (specifically arms and shoulders) are HUGE, but his calves are like toothpicks. So yeah it makes it seem like he would weigh a lot more than he does, given the size of his upper body.

LeBron’s got a great frame for looking big, as does Dwight [wide shoulders and narrow waist proportionally]. No homo.
[Of course, both of these guys look skinny in regular clothes beside regular people, it’s just they look muscular next to Chris Bosh and KG :P.]

Dude, I apologized. I thought you were Drewh. Maybe you missed that. But let’s not get off track here. You said Miami “starting 5 was bigger”; I easily disproved that. I can understand how you didn’t like my approach but please let’s not obfuscate the debate anymore. You were wrong in your original statement.
