That’s fantastic.

I roasted him, thinking it was you, and he responded as expected. You are still a fucking troll that hides behind multiple screen names. Punk.

Sardines, are you really drewh or not??

Let’s be honest here. The only reason to hide if you were in fact drewh is if you’re embarrassed about losing the bet. But IMO anyone who loses a bet then disappears afterward should have more to be embarrassed of then the initial loss. If you’re drewh you should handle the loss like an adult and let everyone know who you are, it’s only fair.

It is definitely him. No question.

Can someone fill me in on the backstory between this drewh guy and randman?

I agree. Drew used to routinely post in the combat forum as well, but no longer does. Now, Sardines has popped up over there in his absence. Don’t think it’s a coincidence. Drewdines it is.

Way back, many moons ago… There was a young warrior, he was a fierce warrior who battled his enemies to the death. This warrior was immortalized after killing 3000 warriors from the 10 greatest nations. One day this warrior discovered his wife to be pregnant, however the warriors enemies conspired against him and kidnapped his pregnant wife. Fearing for his love’s life the warrior agreed to surrender his life to his enemies so long as they released his wife.

The warrior turned himself in and faced a life of torture and agony and his enemies released his wife after taking turns having their way with her. His wife eventually gave birth to twins and since that time their has been a great battle between the twins. Each of which believes they are the true son of the warrior who laid his life down for his wife and the other is the offspring of the bandits. Nobody knows for sure, but it can definitely be assumed that the warriors son would be a Laker fan, whilst the sone of a bunch of rapist bandits with no backbone or decency would despise a team so great as the Lakers. Now I’m not saying Randman is definitely the warriors son, but we all have our opinions.

^^ that’s pretty freakin funny. LMAO!!!

70% of the story is mostly true…

Hahaha!!!

By the way, I am bummed that we didn’t get Raja Bell but you can’t blame him for signing a $10+ mil deal for 3 years when the Lakers were only going to offer him $1.7 mil for a year. Oh well, I guess we’re close to signing downtown Shannon Brown again. I can live with this. The backcourt position of the Lakers still has improved for sure with the Steve Blake signing.

Yeah it’s improved, but I was hoping for a more drastic improvement. Our bench was always a weak factor for us last season, giving up 30 point leads and what not. If this season is going to be as competative as it looks like it will be we need to have a bench that is willing to step it up.

Let’s see if we can change the current mood of this thread :)…

So what’s gonna happen this season for the teams that lost out on nabbing James-Wade-Bosh?

Chicago looks like it’ll do well, and may be a top 4 team in the East, but what about New Jersey, New York, Cleveland, Toronto, and any other teams I missed?

These teams made a point of depleting their rosters so they could go after the top free agents and got nothing, and many teams have less than 5 players while they have to have a minimum of 13 by seasons start according to the rules. And if they have to settle for shitty players that don’t work together well at all how will the teams perform?

Cleveland has a better coach in Byron Scott, but they lost their best player. It’ll be interesting to see how this team plays, given the consensus opinion that outside of LeBron their roster consisted of overpaid/non-factor players.

New York got Amare, but shipped David Lee off [I guess they sort of had to]. It seems like if Melo and CP3 come after next year they’ll be set, but it looks like another lost year this season.

New Jersey is fucked. I don’t know what to say. Why would anyone want to go there now? They have nothing to offer for the next two years, and the big superstars who could have benefited from the move the most wont come since there’s no good team to work with.

Toronto would be fucked, but we play in the same division as the Knicks and Nets, so we have that to look foreword to. We also play in the same division as Boston though, so no way we win obviously, lol. I feel like being a lottery team would be a lot better than a 37 win team that doesn’t make the playoffs, no that we have no Bosh.

The Clippers are a waste of bandwith.

This is probably the biggest problem with this Big 3 thing that could turn into a trend if Miami wins titles and the NY 3 happens. For a big 3 to form, at least two teams have to lose their main attraction. Why would I ever watch a game from the aforementioned teams, save for when Miami/another big team played them, or seeing a rising star like Durant in the Garden in the case of the Knicks? A bunch of teams are boring as shit to follow right now. I don’t think Stern would let it happen, but the more the landscape of the NBA resembles MLB, the less interesting it gets as a whole IMO. Who would have thought players taking paycuts to form stronger teams and win more would be the thing to fear? But it looks like it might be.

I agree. Lamar needs to step up this season. Also, Sasha was showing signs of life again. Shannon Brown needs to work on consistency and defense. The ingredients still very well may be there. Also, if Andrew Bynum can stay healthy this year that automatically improves our bench the most since Lamar can actually anchor it instead of being in the starter role. No worries man. It’ll work out.

I hear you and I don’t like what baseball has turned into but that being said, every time the Yankees are in the world series ratings go through the roof. There may be more boring teams but the general interest in the NBA goes up when you have “superpowers” duking it out. But I still hear you from a basketball purist perspective it would be nice to see more of a move towards an NFL format than the baseball format.

Can’t believe I read that whole thing

therajraj, drewh (now sardines) started posting ridiculous stuff on this year’s NBA Playoffs thread. We all started realizing that we had a troll on our hands as we all excitedly followed the NBA playoffs. I, in particular, took it upon myself to call out this troll-like behavior and he responded to my attention paid to him. I guess I was “feeding” the troll so to speak.

I also happen to be 40 years old, a Laker fan and a Kobe Bryant fan. Our resident troll, sardines (who won’t admit he’s drewh) whose an annoying little millenial (not all of you are), would bend over at the sight of Lebron Lames and thinks he’s the greatest thing since slice bread.

Drewh lost a bet with one of our other posters and he had to kill his profile at T-Nation as a result. When I started criticizing Lebron’s unKing like move to go to Wade’s team to try and ride his coattails to a championship, that in effect, smoked sardines/drewh/drewdines out of the woodwork and he started trolling this thread like he trolled the NBA playoffs thread. And that’s where we stand now…

Which of the contending teams looks like they’ve done the most to better their chances?

I think Boston and Orlando have done the most, personally. Boston lost Tony Allen and Sheldon Williams, but they got Ray Allen and Pierce to take lower salaries and got Jermaine O’Neal. They probably have enough money for another mid-level exception contract, too.

Orlando got Q-Rich, and even though they lost Reddick, for some strange reason Stan Van Gundy wasn’t using him as much as he should have. I like Stan, he’s entertaining as hell but that was something that annoyed me when they were facing Boston. Maybe Q-Rich will get used more.

LA looked like they were gonna do well too, but the Raja Bell deal didn’t work, and to my knowledge they got Blake to replace Farmar [good according to Rand, who I trust on Laker matters :D], but need to resign Brown. Of course, this is a championship squad and they really shouldn’t make too many changes.

I guess this is the weaker of the Conference Finals teams, but Phoenix let Amare go to get overpaid in NY, and replaced him with presumably Hakim Warrik. I don’t remember much on Hakim Warrik that I didn’t learn in his rookie year, and his dunk contest [lol], but he sounds like he’d be a great replacement for Amare.

I know Amare’s a good offensive player, but he doesn’t play defense and can get overpowered on boards. And he’s cheap as hell, so they have more money to go after other players. I imagine they saved $10 mill a year letting Amare go in favor of Warrik. Also, they got Hedo, in return for Barbosa. I’m a little worried about this having seen Hedo in TO. But he could work out well for them, and it’s not like their lost without Barbosa.

I think they’ve done a great job so far this off-season. Actually they may have done more than Orlando or Boston, it’s just they were less likely to win a title before this off-season started, so they may still be behind those two.

Chicago and OKC look like they’ll be contenders soon, but I don’t think next year. But resigning Durant is big, and hopefully they can keep most of their squat together. I don’t know how well Boozer fits in with the Bulls, but it could work.

And of course, if Miami can get some decent players for cheap, add them to the list of contenders for the next few years. But at least for next year, they are seriously low on cash.

No doubt. This works in the casual fan’s favour, at the expense of the serious fan’s. Which sucks become I’m slowly becoming a serious NBA fan.
