I hope that those NY Big 3 really do get together. That would be so awesome for them to trump the Heat in the East every year… super rad

Don’t look for Melo to be going to the Knicks. The Nuggets have already thrown a big contract (offer) at him to prevent him leaving for nothing next summer. Also the idea has been floated that they would trade him before letting him leave and receiving nothing in return.
Miami is in talks to sign Juwan Howard. Other than Mike Miller, this is the type of cast they’re going to be getting to fill out the roster. 37 years old, veteran’s minimum money.
This thread is moving pretty fast, so I skipped a few pages, but I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention the possibility of Raja joining the Lakers. I love the fact that Kobe is helping recruit the players that he wants. His demands on the Lakers management got him Pau, I’m sure he had a big influence in getting Artest, Fisher says Kobe convinced him to stay with the Lakers, and now Kobe is meeting with Raja and has reportedly been texting him since before the off season to convince him to join the Lakers.
Raja adds a little more D to the Lakers team and is a great add for this next season. Let’s hope we can lock him into a deal.
^^ umm…look up 5 posts previous to yours about Raja Bell.

Drew, you may think I’m an asshole but unless you can get some others to agree with you…Troll I am not. You have sole heir to the troll status on this thread. I don’t know why I can’t stop feeding you however. Sometimes it’s just fun to feed the trolls for sport. ;0

Ron Artest containing LBJ that’s a stretch. Blake will not be guarding Miller so no he’ll be guarding Arroyo or Chalmers each I think are quicker and better than Blake. Bell is severely overrated as a defender. The whole Kobe stopper stuff not so much.
IMO you should be way more worried about the defense of the new big three it’s going to be a block party and LA is invited.[/quote]
We shall see Drew, we shall see. And yes, I mistyped. Miller is the forward position, not guard.

I dont think “containing LBJ” matters a whole lot since MIA is no lock for the Finals anyway. Not when BOS is more pissed and mentally tougher.
Its really more about Artest vs Durant (held the kid to 40% FGs in a long series that almost went longer) and Artest vs C Anthony and Brandon Roy etc

C Anthony may have to flee to the Eastern Conf (like how CP3 is thinking) if LAL signs Raja Bell multi-year, and everyone can be healthy enough every April

I know nothing about the NBA??? Hahahaha!!! I’ve only been following it for 30 years but I know nothing. That was funny coming from our resident troll. Good stuff.
Heat are about to acquire Zydrunas Ilgauskas
The Bobcats have sent Tyson Chandler and Alexis Ajinca to Dallas for Erick Dampier, Eduardo Najera, Matt Carroll and cash considerations.
So now thats:
PG Chalmers
SG Wade
SF James
PF Bosh
C Ilgauskas
Reserves:
Miller
Haslem
Looks like a pretty solid team to me.

The C’s are a year older it’s a wrap to me Heat Eastern Conference champs.

Solid team…I guess. Championship team? Don’t think so.

That’s exactly who I’m picking to come out of the East again. Miami a wrap for Eastern Conference Champs? Umm…no. Don’t make us take your second profile away Drewdines.
Think the Celtics window is slammed shut. Tony Allen’s gone, the big 3 is a year older and Rondo’s effectiveness will be hampered a bit due to the aging of the big 3. Signing a perpetually injured Jermaine Oneal doesn’t do much for 'em. There are a few teams out east who can challenge for the ECC, but I’m not ready to crown anyone yet.

Ehhh… my bad. Looked liked I clicked “reply” before reading the last page. Mah bad!
Sardines,
I don’t think anyone is saying Raja is a kobe stopper! Nobody is a Kobe stopper, nor is anyone a Lebron stopper. But he is a defensive upgrade and a good 3 point shooter. Now we’ve got a stronger defensive team, Fish who can hit 3’s, Artest who usually can hit 3’s (I think he’ll come out and perform better next seasone), Odom who hits the occasional 3’s, Bell who can hit 3’s, a superstar who knows where to put the ball, and one hell of a big team with tons of length to dominate the boards.
Wade, Lebron James, and Bosch are all great players. But they can’t compensate for the mismatches elsewhere in their team when it comes to the Lakers OR the Celtics for that matter. I doubt they come out of the east. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did, because 3 superstars is a pretty good recipe for a great season, but I’m not sure they are long enough to contend with the Celtics. Only time will tell.
I also think Orlando still matches up well with Miami as well. Not convinced that the Celts don’t have one more run in em. That’s just me I guess.

My point is Bell is an overrated defender, and you act as if the big 3 are all Miami has. Haslem, they just acquired Z, Miller, I see Chalmers improving, Arroyo. This team is solid and can definitely match up with LA.
2010-2011 champs: Lake show
2011-2012 champs: Knickerbockers
