NBA 2011-2012 Season Thread 2

Article that echoes our collective sentiments-

I was going to mention the Houston series referrenced here, but this team is just plain not as good as the one from '09, and rival teams have gotten better.

Holy shit, just read an article on this. Apparently he’s been giving to troubled children charities for awhile. No matter what the outcome is, his career is done and the conviction rate on things like this is incredibly high.

Do you guys think that the condensed schedule plus heavy minutes has worn down Gasol?

So I was finally looking forward to watching a full Clips-Grizz tonight and my girl wants to have a naked movie night. God damnit I’m never going to get to watch this series.

firstworldproblems, I know I know.

So Mem or LAC tonight… predictions who wins?

I’m going Mem based on home court.

I’d like to see Memphis win. Not a fan of flop city, or smugStern getting any satisfaction from the CP3 trade.

I think Gasol’s weak mind has worn down Gasol. He lost his heart about halfway through last season and it’s pretty obvious it’s not coming back. He could/should absolutely dominate his matchups this series, but he had 3 fucking points and 3 fucking rebounds last night. Faried was busting his ass, and no disrespect to Faried, but that shit shouldn’t happen. And Andrew PunkAss Bynum was getting outplayed buy a guy name Timofey. That’s fucking rididculous.

Regarding Kobe, it’s funny how WF was ripping me the last two years for saying Kobe lost some of his athleticism. Then he got that knee treatment in Germany and everyone from ESPN analysts to die hard LA fans have been espousing how Bryant looks “rejuvenated” this season. And that basically validates my views on Kobe’s play the last couple of years. Kobe is a different player this year - playing in a way that’s more reminiscent of the Kobe people remember unanimously being the best player in the league.

See, I don’t not like Kobe. He’s actually one of my favourite players; some of it even being attributable to me sharing some of his mannerisms (i.e. his facial expressions lol).

LeBron James is your 2011-2012 NBA MVP!

Cool PER visual here:

No doubt LeBron deserved this.

Get, I can read your posts when not logged in, and somehow you’re retarded while being retarded. I MYSELF SAID BRYANT HAS LOST ATHLETICISM. You said he’s unathletic. Huge difference. I’ve also said SEVERAL TIMES that Bryant looks physically better than he has in probably 4 years. Still not sure how one dude can be so consistently wrong about EVERYTHING.

No one in this thread takes you seriously any more when you talk about the Lakers or Kobe. You basically tried your hardest to refute the notion Kobe’s productivity was diminishing the last couple of years. And people here can back me up on that.

Oh and yeah I really called Kobe Bryant non-athletic [/sarcasm]. You actually also refused to accept there are more athletic players out there than Kobe 'cuse no one else can do a 360 in traffic! The ultimate proxy for universally superior athletic ability!

Two Game 7s in the first round!

Also Lebron is the MVP this year. Any disagreements?

They are still in the first round of the playoffs!? Wow, basketball playoffs takes forever. Almost two weeks for one round.

Unfortunately no. He really didn’t have much in the way of competition outside of Parker, Durant and Kobe. Unfortunately for Durant and Parker they are on deep teams, and Kobe didn’t have a career season either.

can’t wait to watch Nuggets Lakers tonight!!

I’m comfortable with my sexuality so when I say LeBron is looking sharp in that suit at the MVP presser that’s just a compliment from one heterosexual male to another.

Congrats to the Lakers, the return of Metta was huge in that victory. Got to give my hometown team some credit for hanging tough and taking the series to the brink. Just came up short during the last 5 minutes.

No offense to the Nugs, 'cause they played a helluva series, but the Lakers should’ve closed it out in 5. Bynum and Gasol’s lack of heart is what stretched this out. I liked that Bryant had no problem letting the bigs do their thing, it’s just sad that they won’t give their best effort everytime.

Am I the only one who was surprised by how much a difference Metta World War made even after so much time off?

While I agree the Heat aren’t as deep as the Spurs or OKC, lets keep in mind Lebron has another top ten scorer (Wade is 7th) on his team to share shots with. Bosh was putting up 18 points himself as well. I’m not really a big Lebron fan but he clearly earned this one.
