unbelievable.

I’m more than sad as I apparently neglected to set the DVR for that late game…
PHUUUUUUUCK!!

I wonder if Rose will be the same player once he returns.
Depends on how severe. Baron Davis tore is ACL in college and recovered for the next season. He went on to be one of the most explosive dunkers in the NBA for his size (6’3) when he was in his prime.
Rose is young, his chances are good I think.
Teledin wrote:
So with Rose out on a torn ACL are we going to hand the Heat the Eastern championship now?

Without Rose, the Bulls might not even get past the Celtics.
I predicted the Heat even with Rose but it would’ve been a 7 games series. Now…they’ll get it done in 5 or 6.
I didn’t see the Knick game. I’ll be watching tonight. I still say the Knicks win 2 games. They’ve been very good at home since Dantoni left and Miami is not so great on the road.
Seriously when the hell is everyone going to realize that every single time they complain about the reffing being scandalous it is ALWAYS in the HOME TEAM’S FAVOR?
Whenever there is god awful atrocious officiating, it’s for the home team, it’s not some leaguewide scam to get LeBron a title (btw, someone please explain to me the proposed rationale for Stern wanting LBJ to get a title)
News Flash: The New York Knicks winning a title would make a FUCKTON of money for the NBA, they have no reason to want the Heat to win it. A Knicks title would make them more money.
I’ll bet you game 3 the reffing will be lopsided in the Knicks favor. Note that I am NOT defending the refs because there is no excuse to be that shitty… all I’m saying is that the reason for the shittiness is incompetence plus home team favor, NOT some crackpot conspiracy theory.
Also:
Fuck, poor Rose.

Even though I know i didn’t actually have any impact on the injury, I feel kinda bad now for wishing the Bulls would win a title w/o Rose.

Inb4 a 10 page argument between you, WF and MattyXL
I find it weird how there are these analysts blaming Rose’s other injuries during the season on the schedule, then they blame (halfassed) those injuries on the ACL. Meanwhile Shumpert just got randomly injured. What?!
The last 3 teams to blow an 18+ point lead in the playoffs all made the Finals, and 2 of them won a championship. So, silver lining for Memphis? haha.
Also, the Knicks-Heat game bitching…it was a 33 point blowout. The refs didn’t make the Knicks shoot 35%. Miami got some calls, but the Heat would have won anyway.

There have been a shitload of injuries this season, the condensed schedule has definitely taken it’s toll.
I do hope Rose recovers though, this kind of stretch of injuries kills careers.

Yet perennially hurt guard. 90% of pg’s that require athleticism to do their job, don’t have the longest lasting or most winning careers. Jumping as high, as hard and as lateral as they do just takes it’s toll by time the playoffs come.

The condensed season/lockout DEFINITELY has an effect on player injuries. More back to back games than ever, minimal/virtually no practice time and much less down time for recovery = injury waiting to happen.
Just look at the NFL. They had a lockout, which didn’t condense the season but severely limited off season workouts and they had the most blown Achilles tendons last year that the NFL had ever seen in a season.
Here are my NBA Playoff thoughts so far:
-
LOVED the defense I saw from the Lakers. If Bynum can keep playing like that I think the Lake Show can win a title (I’m not expecting him to put up 10 blocks a game) the Lakers blocked 1 out of every 6 Denver shot attempts. That’s amazing. Keep up that defense.
-
Can’t believe Mem and Dal both choked away leads. This would have been a much more interesting first round (in the west) if those two teams would have won.
-
What the hell Boston?!? I mean seriously…
-
Sucks for the Bulls and Rose… I feel bad for them and their fans.
-
Miami basically has a free pass to the Finals. With Rose out and Boston crapping the bed the other day I don’t really see any way that someone takes them out. Hopefully NY can at least make this a series. I want to see exciting games.
-
San Antonio looks real good. TD looks like the Timmy from several years ago.
That is all for now

How the hell are you putting these two in the same sentence? LOL
Dallas was never really up by that much. You guys really consider the Dallas loss a ‘choke’ ??

OKC was down by 7 points with less than 2 and a 1/2 minutes left in the game

IMO that’s plenty of time for Durant/Westbrook to do work, without really calling a loss ‘choking’.
nice to have you back btw.

Seriously. Not only that, their lead was fluctuating between 0 and 7 for most of 2nd half.
OKC was at home and Durant managed to hit game winning shot. I consider that a far-cry from a choke.
Maybe gregron just has flashbacks to last years 2nd round everytime he sees DAL play. ![]()
