Also Scj you’re a fantasy baseball guy right?
Keep an eye on Brandon Morrow I see a huge improvement coming this year. I told you last year he would eventually surpass Romero and you were skeptical.

So what do you guys thInk of Odom? Will be picked up by another team? Is his career over?
As someone who loves using Dallas online in NBA 2k12 I’m going to miss him lol[/quote]
He can’t this season. He’s listed as inactive til next season. Doesn’t really seem like his heart has ever really been in it. Now he can smoke as much dope and pole as he wants.
I always wondered how these guys pass drug tests, cause i doubt they stop during the season.

Odom’s been busted twice I believe, and the pole reference is 'cause that dude’s fruitier than a bag of skittles.

You’re a Bulls fan so you might be upset about that game but you don’t think Shump deserves an All-Defensive Second team spot at least?
Honestly, if we cut the BS he’s been a better defender than Kobe this year. And that’s shared sentiment.
Wow no wonder Chicago is such a good team #ReboundingJuggernaut

You sure that was me? I love Morrow’s strikeouts and think Romero is slightly overrated. Morrow habitually underperforms his peripherals though.
That’s all I’ll say because I want to stay on topic.

No, I don’t think he deserves second team, Iguodola and Tony Allen are unquestionably better defenders at the SG position.
That’s not a knock on Shump - he’s really good on D - but those guys are in another league.
Believe it or not, I think that some guys who don’t play in big markets and on national TV are really good defenders (funny that the only possible better defensive SG you mentioned was Kobe)
So when are we going to start talking about Kobe’s injury? They’re saying it’s mild but that guy has played through some pretty damn painful shit, I think it’s worse than they are letting on. He misses 2 games in the middle of a division race? Not like him.

Having watched the last 2 games he played, I don’t think it’s THAT bad. Obviously it’s bothering him but I think he’s using this time to rest up everything, and they’re just playing on the inflamed tendon sheath. And, read where Mike Brown said he’d rather Bryant miss a couple of games now and them drop a spot than him play now and go into the playoffs really banged up. What trips me out is how Gasol has now slid into 4th option and doesn’t seem to mind.
thru three quarters, and I’m not sure what’s the crazier stat - Bynum outrebounding the entire Spurs team himself or Metta World Peace doing a bizarro-Bryant out there (23pts on 8-11 FGs, so far)

I find it even more ironic that Shump plays in a huge market and didnt even get invited to the rookie game, and may even get some looks as rookie of the year. Give Shumpert time and he will be as good if not better defensive player then Allen or Iguodala, and possibly a better all around player. Shumpert’s on ball defense is stellar…he is quickly becoming my favorite player
No reason to calm down…Other than Irving, why shouldnt he get some votes as ROY? I didnt say win it, I said get some notice. Knight, Walker, Thomas and Brooks all play for horrendous teams, Shump has been one of the main reasons the Knicks are looking good for the playoffs…if shumpert got the same PT on those poor teams he would put up similar stats.
I’d say Kyrie is pretty much a lock for ROY. I do believe Shumpert should be considered an elite perimter defender though. I don’t watch Knicks games unless it’s a big time match up, but he gave Rose absolute fits.
Unfortunately DPOY/NBA All Defense teams are 50% popularity contests. Superstars like Wade and Kobe and established defenders like Tony Allen will get the nod over Shumpert, at least this season.
MIAMI – Count two-time Olympian and Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade among those who believe NBA players should be paid for playing with Team USA in the London Olympics.
“You talk about the patriotism that guys should want to play for, but you [need to] find a way to entice the guys,” Allen was quoted as saying in the interview. “It’s not the easiest thing in the world if you play deep in the playoffs and then you get two, three weeks off and then you start training again to play more basketball, where it requires you to be away from home and in another country. It’s fun, but your body does need a break.”

I hate that line of thinking. Why should someone get votes for an award if we know they don’t deserve to win it? The whole “he should be mentioned in the discussion even though he shouldn’t win it” argument really annoys me (you see it a lot with MVP discussions in every sport). It’s basically just fans of a certain team wanting people to talk more about their guys.
That being said, you can’t rule out people who you haven’t seen play. Shumpert has nowhere NEAR the offensive game of Kyrie Irving, on any team, sorry bro. No matter which team you play on, bad or good, you have to put up those stats against NBA defenders. Irving runs the pick and roll like a 5-year vet, from the couple of games I’ve seen of him. It’s downright scary. Shumpert would NOT put up a 19/4/6 with 47% / 41% / 87% shooting splits on any team, period.
Saying Shump isn’t in the running for ROY doesn’t mean he’s not a good player, but there’s actually a much better crop of rookies this year than people thought of. Isaiah Thomas on the Kings has been awesome since starting, Kenneth Faried is doing things for Denver that they badly need, Kawhi Leonard getting serious run for the #1 or 2 seed in the West.
Also if you want to talk young guards defense, have you seen Avery Bradley? Holy crap (he’s a 2nd year player but still).
Andrew Bynum, never change: - YouTube
Apparently he was trying to take the ball so he could shoot a last-second three. Why is he OBSESSED with shooting threes?
Wade has been my favorite player for a long time but I must admit I was disappointed by his comments. I’d rather them not play in the Olympics then complain about not being adequately compensated for the honor of representing their country in the Olympics.
He posted this clarification on his Facebook but it didn’t mean much to me:

When Bradley was in highschool I thought he had the potential to be Westbrook 2.0. He’s not quite as athletic or offensive minded but he’s a MUCH better man defender, and has some pretty serious upside. Kind of seems like they’re grooming him to take over for Rondo when he leaves, however that happens.
