I’ve got the aluminum welding attachments for the mig but never tried it. Maybe when I retire ?

Don’t ruin a perfectly good retirement trying to mig weld aluminum.

It’s touchy. The wire is too soft, so it feeds badly. The feed rate has to be high so it goes on hot, but the thermal conductivity is high which messes that up, too hot and alloying elements separate… It just keeps on sucking.
Tig is where it’s at with aluminum. Nice shiny welds that don’t break and don’t suck. Just dip, dip, dip.
Yes I hear good stuff about TIG .
