bill??? brock???..just bought a couple of bottles of natures way vitex… its says its standardized for 40mg’s per cap upon the latest german research…which was probably a few years ago… anyway…i know the biotest product will have other things and it and should be better but i just want to experiment on my own alittle… so how much of a dose would be required for a 240lb man???..if it blocks estrogen wouldnt it help with stubborn bodyfat??? im looking for more of that hard look… also would it be wise to stack with tribex???

I also bought a bottle of Nature’s Way Vitex yesterday. The label says 40mg per cap. I bought another bottle of Natures Way today (@Whole Foods) and the label says 400mg per cap. I suspect that the first one may be a labeling error. BTW - the owner of the supplement store where I bought the first bottle was questioning why I would want to purchase this product. The label on the bottle calls this a “traditional herbal supplement for women” On the plus side, it was damn cheap @ 5.95 per bottle.

Billy,I bought the Solaray brand (225mg extract-0.5% to 1.13mg/agnuside and a 100mg of regular powder per cap and I,am taking 2 in the morning, 2 at bed time(I weigh 280). I,am surprised that something so cheap and simple works that well. I started experiencing some of the same effects that Chris Shurgart stated(oily skin,few pimples,hardons all during the night and day,energy increase). I also want to say thank you Brock for bringing this out in the open.P.S can,t wait till your product comes out, I bet it will be something valuble to all of us.
Marcus,the one you bought with the 400mg per cap would be the powder form, it is cheaper than the extract you bought at 40mg per cap. I think it,s best to stay with extract form,unless you buy the regular powder by the gm.
Vitex is an herb also known as “chasteberry”. There is an encyclopedia of vits/herbs on the web (see www.tnp.com/encyclopedia/substance/32/ for the entry on chasteberry). They list the dose as “20 to 40 mg given once a day”. HOWEVER given that they are using it for a completely different purpose, it is difficult to know what the optimal dosage would be.
well i dont know why you would take it twice per day… i read somewhere on here that it has a long half life so there is no need for more than one dose…well i took 10 caps!!! morning only… and nothing special…no crazy amount of erections…but its only been 1 day…so we will see… if gured that if had to front load the clomid that it would be a good idea to front load this as well…so i guess ill go down to 4-6 caps am only… also donq quai says the same thing the vitex says on the nw bottle…so would this enhance or have the same effect…
To Randy Lane: I don’t know the difference. They both look like powder to me. Both Labels say the same thing: vitex agnus castus (fruit).
The 40mg version lists millet and gelatin as other ingredients. The 400 mg list millet, gelatin and magnesium stearate. The 40mg version was a dollar less than the 400mg version. I figured they were both so cheap it was a throw away in either case. I think I’ll check with Nature’s Way tomorrow.
Marcus,both will be powder form but if it says extract, then that would be your best buy,most likely it will be the lesser mg, but would be the purest form.
Big Randy - I called Nature’s Way this morning and talked to a customer service rep. She didn’t know what the difference was so she put me on hold and asked someone. When she came back she told me that they decided to up the dose because they noticed that other brands had much higher doses. It sounded kinda fishy to me but the bottom of the bottle with the higher does show’s a later expiration date than the 40mg bottle. Also, it seems like if they up the dose tenfold but didn’t really change the price that much (I bought each bottle at a different store and they were within a dollar of each other) then they must have had a huge profit margin on the lower dose. Either that or most of the cost goes into the packaging. Who know’s. In any event, if nothing happens then I’ll just chuck them both and wait for the Biotest product.
