I Don’t want this to turn into a gear vs no gear argument. But one of my friends wants to compete this year, hes 21 and all natural no gear at all.
The problem, his show only piss tests which we all know can be passed. I mean if other competitors use gear but just stay clean long enough to pass the piss test that is a HUGE advantage.
So how does one enter a “natural” show where the playing filed is even for sure? Is there a sure fire way to detect if anyone has use gear at all, at some point in their life? Only thing I can think of is lie detector tests?
O ya I forgot to mentinon that a guy I knew in High School took “gear” and then entered a “natural” show. Funny thing is you could clearly tell how had used gear and who had not.
Well not 100% cause you cant ever tell how hard someone works or their genetics. But he got second place, and it was completely unfair to the actual “natural guys”. They guy he lost to was a monster at 18…and he was all “natural”.

Some facts:
- There is no such things as “natural shows” only “tested shows”. As you mentionned a urine test can be beaten with proper timing. But to be honest, today’s urine test are much more solid then they once were and you can’t really “trick” them except if you use untested/untestable substances or wait long enough for the drugs to clear your system.
That having been said, because of the precision of the modern tests, the period needed for the drugs to clear your system enough to test clean is much longer now (because the test can spot even minute amount of drug metabolites).
And when it comes to undetectable substances, yes you have stuff like growth hormone, IGF-1 and insulin which are hard if not impossible to detect but that’s pretty much it, and by themselves these will not make a huge difference unless you are willing to invest a lot of money for sufficient doses.

The urine analysis test is, besides blood testing, still the most effective way to drug test. Heck, I’m impressed that bodybuilding show even use it since it’s fairly expensive. Most federations use a lie detector test which is bulls**t if you ask me.

From experience there are plenty of “non-natural” guys competing in tested shows. But that’s a reality that your friend is going to face.
IMHO deciding to use drugs just because his competition might be using them is just plain dumb. Be your own man! Let your decisions be taken by what you believe in not what others are doing!
Anyway, what will winning the show accomplish besides a plastic trophy?

That’s the real question he should be asking. If he has no chance of winning because he THINKS other people have used anabolics, what is he competing for? There are people with great genetics who will not look natural even if they are because they are carrying that much muscle mass. If you have no chance of beating these people…why are you competing?
This isn’t an activity for “average” people who can’t stand out based on their own genetic ability and hard work.

If you are to the point where you are contemplating using any performance or ‘physique’ enhancing drugs then you don’t need to be competing at tested shows.
If you win your trophy and used gear saying ‘all the other naturals were using’ then whats the point. Why not just step up and beat other guys who compete in organizations that don’t test.
I think that you are the scum of the earth if you use and compete as a ‘natty’ because that is straight up lying and can be considered ‘cheating’ with PED’s just because you think that all the other guys are doing it. Might as well step up to the plate with the rest of the users.
If you are competing in tested shows its because you don’t use…and that should be it. If you lose to somebody at a tested show who beat a test then oh well thats life, but trust me that guy will get no respect from anybody or himself for winning a tested show while dirty.

I agree with Gerdy, you’re a piece of shit if you use and then compete in tested orgs once you’re “clean.”
If you wanna use, man up and compete with other users.
Nothing wrong with using when everyone has the option, but when you’re competing against guys who don’t it’s messed up.

Why shouldn’t there be a venue for drug free athletes to compete on an even playing field? Being good enough to get on stage is something one should be proud of and few will ever experience, especially those who are drug free.
