Well, I once ate an entire pizza, a steak, Fries, corn cob, big scoop of ice cream, personal size chocolate cake (like 3 cupcakes!), and washed it all down w/ 3-4 glasses of lemonade.

You mean like a one-pound burger, fries and shake?
Whole pizza?
All-you-can-eat BBQ at Sonny’s for 4-7 chicken breasts and/or pork, beef, ribs, sweet potato, cole slaw, and baked beans?

During pregnancy?
In one day? Or in one sitting?

One sitting. Pizza at home and then we went to Chili’s. I had the steak plate and the chocolate cake/ice cream I mentioned was their Molten Chocolate cake. Probably the equivalent of 2 cupcakes, not 3 as I originally thought.
And yes, pregnant w/ my first. I promptly went home and puked.
I wink because it’s funny, not because I speak not the truth.
The skinny guys/girls usually do well compared to larger people (in seeming contradiction of logic) due to the “belt of fat” theory, which posits that fat around the stomach chokes its expansive abilities.
Also, it would seem to me that fasting before a contest would lead to an undesirable atrophying of the stomach – voluminous, low-kCal foods (water, perhaps?) might do better. Apparently, water consumption is a critical factor during the contest as well.
There was even a King of the Hill episode about Bill becoming a gurgitator.

Well, since I’ve started eating smaller, more numerous meals, I don’t have the ingestive abilities of yesteryear… but at the age of about 16 or 17 I once ate 2.5 large pizzas – one half vegetarian, one pepperoni and one bacon/olive.
Of course, I ate about 2kg of Alaskan King Crab (in the shell) last Friday. For some reason I can still eat ridiculous amounts of shellfish; maybe it’s because I burn so many calories shelling the damn things

Not sure. But when I had mono sophomore year, I dropped down to 130 lbs. (gross!) I couldn’t stomach anything and had zero interest in food for nearly two months. I had it pretty bad (some people don’t even know they have it and dont get sick). I started to feel better around Thanksgiving. When I went home for the holiday, my mother was so horrified, she was stuffing something in my mouth everytime I turned around. And she made a pie a day just for me. Pumpkin pie. pecan pie. mmm…pie
Other than that, I went to this expensive Brazilian steakhouse, fogo de chao, one weekend. Ridiculous food. All you can eat. You leave your sign turned up to green, and they keep bringing you different kinds of meat. They don’t stop serving you till you turn it to red. And you can do it as many times as your want. I ate and ate and ate. Until I had to unbutton my pants. Otherwise, they would’ve burst.

Ahh, a churrascaria! I’ve been to two of those and they are fantastic. To me, that is borderline the perfect restaurant when you are in the mood to eat and eat big.

Wow… marry me. ;)[/quote]
Hehehe! My husband might take issue w/ that!
I have an idea: Next time I’m up your way let’s have an eating contest. LOL!! (I’m from CT.)

NOW we’re talking! Oh yes, I remember your family is from the Willimantic area, if I am not mistaken. There is a place in Rhode Island that seems to be a good fit for massive eating (umm, not the John Berardi kind either): http://www.nordiclodge.com
Granted, it’s $65 a pop… but all you can eat lobster??? You can even bring your husband and kids.
