The only reason to not be against naked gym guy, is that you are naked gym guy.
I have to admit I have been naked in more places than I care to remember. Bars, parties etc., but alcohol is usually involved.
I am comfortable naked but I realize in the gym setting others don’t really want to see how well endowed I am so out of courtesy for their egos I tend to dress quickly after my shower.
I don’t really want to see strangers naked in the locker room either but I couldn’t care less when it is friends/team-mates and the like.
I just took off my pants to finish this post.

I am also nude outside guy at the nude beach.

Going to the bathroom, weighing yourself, this and that, I that’s all fine and well to do naked after a shower. However, I think that if you have a towel with you, you should use it.

You look like just the kind of guy who should be covered up. Not everyone wants to see your shriveled up cock, so cover up.
It’s called courtesy.

Your comment may apply to yourself, but it does not apply to me even a little bit.
You are the first person that I have encountered from New Zealand with such a sour disposition. All of the people that I have worked with were nice people. What happened to you?

I would use my towel. After drying off, I would spread it out so I could sit on it.
Strange, most people living here are quite fond of common courtesy…
What you fail to understand is that most people would rather not look at your naked body. Covering up is simply being courteous toward the other people at your gym.
Fuck it. You seem hell bent on walking around naked, I’ll make a point of not going to Kansas next time I travel to the US.

Common courtesy includes minding your own business and not trying to force others to not use the locker room for its intended purpose. Perhaps you would be more comfortable exercising at home.
You might want to avoid a lot of the beaches too, because some of us like to wear very little or sometimes nothing at all at some beaches.
You might be more comfortable visiting some of the ultra religious Muslim countries that believe in extremely conservative clothing.

Like I said before, I have no problem with naked women.

mej, you’re making horrible analogies. a nude beach is acceptable because when you go there, you expect people to be nude for various reasons. HOWEVER, while I understand that there will be nudity in the locker room, I’m one to generally believe in courtesy and respect in regards to another’s presence.
like I said before, if you have a towel draped over your shoulder as you walk out of a shower, it belongs around your waist out of common courtesy towards everyone else.
if you have to be nude, okay. but if you can do something to prevent yourself from exposing your private parts (which are, get this…private), do it.
A beach is also a large open space, meaning it’s simple enough to find somewhere else to be. A gym changing room means theres limited things to look at.
The Law of Male Nudity:
A dick is like a gun. Don’t point it at anything you don’t want to shoot.

You misunderstand. You may have what you consider to be private parts. I don’t have that personal hangup.
The nude beach analogy is actually dead on. You should expect nudity without constraints in both situations. You have no right to expect someone to cover up in either situation just because you have some kind of prudish hangup. If you do not understand this, you will never understand .
I am not responsible for your personal issues. They are for you to get over.

There’s something about this whole argument that doesn’t make sense to me:
I pay the same money that you pay to use a gym that offers the convenience to shower. There are no rules as to be covered while you are drying or shaving. You bring your child and your child’s friends over and because they are changing I must change my habits and conform to your need for respect.[/quote]
The lack of respect is actually lack of respect for you, and not the other way around. The kids and their parents are the ones who lack respect for where they are at and their misplaced expectations. I see absolutely no reason to do anything different than I already do. It is a gym locker after all.
If people can’t understand that this is a locker room where nudity is not only acceptable, but is something that should be expected without anyone ever feeling the need to cover up unless they want to. If someone is a prude, they should just skip the locker room and go home.

hahahah… I think someone takes offense to us not wanting to see his balls in the gym locker room. They are just as bad, if not worse, at the swimming pool showering room!!! This summer, I was unwillingly subjected to an old man toweling his balls extra dry with one leg hoisted high on the bench, providing any innocent bypassers an unmistakable view of his swirling junk. I am forever cursed with this half-second memory that my eyes accidentally stumbled upon. Also keep in mind that this is at a public swimming pool where far, far more small children are present than a public gym.

It’s expected, but, eh, there’s no reason to celebrate it.

MEJ does this look familiar?

It’s like going into a designated smoking area and complain that people smoke. Or that they smoke too much. Or that they should stop smoking just because I have kids with me. If it were me with kids in tow and bothered by male nudity in a locker, then I would skip the locker. Just like I would skip other things that I don’t enjoy or might be harmful to my kids, like casinos, bars, strip joints, brothels and so forth. It’s expected to find naked men in a locker. You don’t like it, you don’t look or go there.
Locker Room doesn’t mean “Nude Lounge”
