Naked Gym Guy!

Wow… I don’t even know how to respond to this. So a father who’s naked with his kids in sauna or some place similar is a child molester? And my father used to run around naked every time he was going to take a shower or something like that (ok I’ll admit it disturbed me a little, but mainly because I’d rather not watch a skinny fat old man wave his penis around when I’m eating). And kids see naked men all the time in swimming halls (not in the swimming area you fools, but in the showers and locker room) and there’s nothing weird about it.

This thread confuses the hell out of me, I mean I knew you guys were paranoid about nekkid men but this is beyond ridiculous. I understand that you’d prefer the old guys to dress but that’s really not something worth mentioning. Being naked is 100% natural and there’s nothing wrong with it, as long as it’s not in public (which locker rooms are not).

I’ve seen naked men around me all the time in locker rooms and saunas and it hasn’t negatively affected me at all. I always understood that it’s perfectly natural. When I’m at gym I always undress and walk naked to the shower area and that’s exactly what others do as well. I can’t be bothered to hide my body from others who are just like me.

Oh and I live in Finland. You should watch the Conan O’brien episode where he visits Finland. Made me laugh how he was in sauna and all the others were naked yet he was really uncomfortable with the whole situation. Silly man. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Right, social norms are subjective. Where they live, the norms are different than where you do (and where I’ve grown up), thus people should take that into consideration to not make people uncomfortable.

It is a cultural thing. When I was in Europe people didn’t have problems with nudity. There was nothing dirty or overtly sexual about being naked, it was just the absence of clothing. Some of the stuff that was perfectly acceptable on daytime TV probably would not have made it onto US TV because, god forbid, there was a breast to be seen! From a rather selfish viewpoint though, I would perfer it if hairy, fat, old men were to cover up in the locker room. I would perfer somethings to remain abstract concepts.

Good points, and I do agree that I’d rather not see some ugly naked guys around, but I’m just saying that seeing them doesn’t disturb me and I don’t find it odd in any way. You’re right about the culture, ten years ago it wasn’t uncommon to see naked breasts in commercials between children’s shows. You don’t see that nowadays though, but in general nudity isn’t considered that much of a taboo here.

Unfortunately I have seen it all and I still can’t believe people behave like that.

Our gym has a rock climbing wall, pool etc. They host bday parties so we decided to have my sons there.

Anyway,picture this.

I have (11) 8 year old boys in the locker room getting dressed after swimming. This guy comes walking up to his locker butt naked, opens it up, and proceeds to stand there doing shit completely naked in front of a bunch of 8 year olds.

At first I was certain he had the decency to clothe himself but when it became clear he was not going to I said, “Hey, how about putting some pants on or something?”

He acted taken aback like it was some inconvenience to which I said, “who on earth stands around naked like that in front of a bunch of litlle boys? What’s the matter with you?”

He grabbed his stuff out of his locker and moved over an aisle still naked.

This probably trumps everything I have seen and I have seen ball drying, guys walking around bare assed, standing there shaving with their junk hangin out, etc. We even had a guy who went through this ritual at the end of the aisle standing on a towel facing out naked rubbing lotion all over his body.

Completely unbelievable.

WTF? I don’t understand, is that some crazy American thing? Why are you all so afraid of nakedness? That sounds perfectly normal to me, people are naked in locker rooms, get over it. It always makes me laugh how most foreign people act all strange when confronted with a naked body, take the exchange students here for example. We have unisex sauna without clothing all the time here and the foreigners have a hard time adjusting.

And seriously, if you’re 8 years old chances are you couldn’t give a flying fuck about some naked man.

If you feel so insecure about naked people I think you’ve caught the ghey. Or do you for some reason think the boys will be traumatized? I seriously hope your post was sarcasm and I just didn’t get it.

Because there are perverts out there, because some people think it’s gross. Taking a shit is natural, but I don’t want to have to see someone do it.

Come on. A dad and his son crossing paths in the bathroom while on the shitter or about to shower is way different than a fucking free-balling stranger near little kids. No prob with coming out of the shower naked and then putting on a towel. But don’t turn it into your personal bathroom. Maybe you dont have these guys in your gym. There the ones that talk on their cell phones butt-ass naked, blow dry their hair butt-ass naked, clip finger nails butt-ass naked, watch gym tv butt-ass naked, try to ask about your training butt-ass naked, consume post workout dring butt-ass naked, brush teeth butt-ass naked, etc. Thats a little much.

Well put…

Fuck.

You know what. You and your little buddy zomg need to quit trying to be all cultured and worldy and just accept the FACT that hanging around children with your weiner hanging out for one second longer than necessary is fucked up repugnant shit.

I have traveled all over this world. In fact I have been to Finland, and can tell you right now had I been in a gym in Finland and some douchebag behaved in the same way this guy did I would have done the same thing.

I am sure a couple guys like you would have stood around with your dicks flapping around wondering what just happened and I’m OK with that.

Children deserve our respect and safe keeping. Adults parading around naked in front of them unnecessarily is unacceptable.

If you have a problem with that, I have a problem with you and we won’t come to terms on this topic.

What I don’t understand is why that is so hard for some people to grasp. At the very least wrap the towel around yourself!

There’s something about this whole argument that doesn’t make sense to me:

I pay the same money that you pay to use a gym that offers the convenience to shower. There are no rules as to be covered while you are drying or shaving. You bring your child and your child’s friends over and because they are changing I must change my habits and conform to your need for respect.

Now I understand how children learn to be ashamed of being naked.

How about you educating your children that if they go to public places there will see other people of the same sex naked and it is natural and normal.

I would love for you to come to Japan and tell anyone here that they are traumatizing the children by being naked around them.

Since you’re from japan and every thread in this and the politics forum forums ends up like this:
No, and because you lost WWII.

on a serious note, It’s not being ashamed of being naked, being naked is fine. but making yourself a disusting naked spectacle isn’t. Get out of shower and put on some fucking boxers then go parade around. Put some cloth around your man piece, it’s polite

Wow, naked in a gym locker room. Who would have thought it possible?

look, it’s about decency in general. I have no problem with nakedness in general, or even nakedness when getting out of the shower. However, when you go walking around without regard to the other people in the locker room, there’s a problem. Using a towel is another thing, but walking around naked for unnecessarily extended periods of time is just not right.

Exactly. The human body is natural and normal and anyone who thinks otherwise has some serious personal issues. No wonder kids are so screwed up with adults like this raising them.
Padilla7921 wrote:

Are you the time police who gets to decide how long is too long?
I would be nude from the time i took my exercise clothes off until I started getting dressed to go home. That would probably be about 10 minutes and wouldn’t be anybody else’s business.

Look, the real issue is that the male form, unlike the female form, is something that most consider disgusting and should be covered and hidden as much as possible.

If women want to walk around naked, I personally think they have every right to do so, provided they are hot.

I do have a problem with it and would never change just to suit someone with this kind of body phobic attitude.

This has to be the stupidest comment that I have seen on this forum. Being nude in a locker room is to be expected and if you think otherwise you are going to be disappointed. I absolutely do not understand how anyone could be so clueless as some of the people posting on this thread who think that there is something wrong with being nude in a locker room.

Some people are even advocating violence against someone who is using the locker room the way they have been used as long as I can remember. I certainly do not take any special care to be covered when I am in a locker room. There is absolutely no need to.

I have 4 articles of clothing on counting my shoes. That is already 4 too many. LOL

I was getting a bit too hot in that shirt.
