My V-Diet Thread

I don’t plan on having anymore V-Muffins because I want the craving change and don’t want to chance the psychological factor. Also, the shakes today seem to be going down much easier, day 6!

Absolutely - smart move.
Standing here at day 28, I can tell you that the psychological factor is one of the greatest rewards of this diet.

I had my solid meal today, it was a steak a sweet potato, and vegetables. The vegetables were amazing, I chowed down the whole bag. The steak was amazing as well! One of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life.

Day 7: The shake went down easily today. I’m getting more adjusted to this diet. However, I am having some qualms.(Mind you there good ones, but nevertheless I’m seeing an issue.) I’m at 149 pounds, 12.1% body fat. My goal was 9-10. I really don’t want to go under 140 pounds, however I’m worried the full 4 weeks may send me through that barrier.

After I hit about 9-10%(Which I’m hoping is about 1- 1.5 weeks from now) do you think I should perhaps up the protein shakes to more calories, in order to retain the psychological benefit, but not lose as much weight? If I was just losing weight on the diet, that would be fine, however I realize I will also lose some coming off. Any suggestions? I took my BF% 3 times and it said 12.2/12.2/12.1, so I think it’s accurate.(However I don’t see a HUGE amount of difference between when I started, however I always read that the difference between 12 and 15-16 in the ab section isn’t hugely noticeable.

Ok well if you guys have any suggestions let me know!

I think you went on the diet to get a lower bf% correct? As long as you are not losing muscle why would you come off the diet? The phrase of the week is something about chasing 2 rabbits. What do you want, to get lean or gain more muscle? Eff what the scale says!

I don’t want both, I want my 9-10% body fat, but after I do that, theres not much reason to go down any further? I mean I can’t maintain anything below that healthily really.

My point was go for the look or bf you want no matter what the scale says.

If you are at the bf you want there is no need to stay on the diet. I would go about 5 lbs lower than you want then transition off.

Why do you think you can’t hold anything under 9% bf and be healthy?
bill

That’s what I’ve always read, maybe it’s not true, but I don’t have much of an interest to hold much under that anyhow.

That’s what this is all about, it is what YOU want!

If you get to the bf YOU like slowly transition off of the diet.

I would go by whether or not I am satisfied with my appearance - to determine what body fat level works for you - will be different for every person.

Agreed, I’m going till 10%, regardless. Then transitioning and hoping to drop down to 9% during that two week transition. I’m thinking I’ll hit that somewhere in between day 18-24.

Make sure your have a solid transition plan in place, “winging it” is not a good idea, as I experienced yesterday.
Keep it up! It’s awesome to get to that level BF% - I am planning another go at the V-Diet on Feb 3…

Yeah, I’m actually reading your thread so I can plan out what to do. I can’t wait to get measured friday to see where I’m at.

After looking in the mirror, I’ve come to the conclusion… that I have bloody abs now! I’ve been on this diet for just over a week and a half and I went from flab to being cut, perhaps it’s because my diet pre-V was complete crap,( I spend 6 months of energy drinks and taco bell), however I really like the look I have right now, I’m not a chisled 8 pack, but I have a defined cut in my lower abdominals and then coming down my rib cage. I’m quite happy where I am. I may be transitioning for sooner than I thought.

That must be awesome to finally see abs… I look forward to that day.
You might want to go a bit longer, because remember, you’;; probably gain back a few pounds in water weight etc.

Good for you!
