I would just like to echo Ben’s comments also, I met BBB this Saturday just gone - extremely knowledgeable, even though I had minor problems - sorted me a treat ![]()
BBB
I’d like to explore the possibilty of having a session with you. As you may be aware from a couple of questions I’ve already fired at you, I have a number of issues (major and minor) that I’m keen to get sorted so I can start to make some real progress in the gym. I love training, but I suck at it and I suspect it’s down to my numerous problems. I’ve just read this thread, and a lot of your responses to peoples queries and you clearly know your stuff.
Could you send your email address my way so I can get in touch?
Thanks
Hey BBB,
Having looked at your career path in the previous pages, i have followed a very similar route and find myself currently working for the nhs in exercise referral.
I would like to see what services you offer/price etc? I wouldnt say im currently struggling with any particular pain, but i think it wise that i seek a check up of some sort to check out any imbalances (due to me reading/researching and always tweeking workouts/programs etc) . This is something that not many professionals chiropractors/physio’s etc can help you with unless you are struggling with an injury and the usual advice is rest/ less training etc
I seem to be struggling with delayed onset muscles soreness for long periods and chances are it is down to a imbalance somewhere.
could you forward your email to me and maybe look at setting something up.
thanks
Hey BBB,
I’ve come across somebody on another forum I frequent that may be in need of your eval and assistance. He lives out in England and when I brought up that I knew somebody out in Nottingham, he asked me to get your contact info for him.
Could you PM me your contact info to send to him? See if you guys can work something out?
Hi BBB,
I’m getting seriously frustrated with the chiros and sports therapists that have attempted to address my issues. I have been following a few of your threads and your advice always seems insightful. I may be able to get up to Nottingham in the near future (I’m in Bournemouth), can you PM me contact details and prices for consultation and evaluation. Thanks.
Hey BBB im a sports therapist who has had a similar route through the fitness/rehab world been lifting weights now for 22 years with a 4 year lay off in 2001 from a near fatal motorcycle crash (hit a car in the wrong lane at 40mph doing 40mph myself).
Been part of the stroke and neuro rehab team for my local physiotherapy dept.
Got fed up with Asshat noodles in gyms tellig me i couldnt teach people to lift without the bits of paper so got involved with WABBA and jumped through some hoops.
Led me to the North london School of Sports Massage and now almost 2 years in business working for myself.
Im in Sunny Lowestoft on the east coast, Nottingham isnt so far from me and I think like alot of people here in T-Nation I think its time i gave my self an MOT lol, i mean who fixes the fixers ???
If you would forward me some contact details I would like to get in touch and arrange a session with you.
Thanks for your time
Ken Stevens

BBB, could you recommend a good website or link that deals with tendonitis please if you have a sec.
I would like to read up on it before I ask for some advice for my elbow thats making life somewhat difficult. I’m pretty sure it something I’m going to have to live with 24/7 though, I have been. Flameout seems to help. Manual labour jobs have taken their toll I’m afraid.
At least I can still train, I just have to stay away from the excercises that aggravate it. Body weight pull-ups are a no no for me now, military press is tricky as well. Too bad those two are awesome excersises.
Thanks

I don’t, sorry. But since your tendonitis could come from a number of causes, a generic page of advice detailing what tendonitis is would be pretty useless.
Provide more details and we’ll try and work through it. Forearms (and shoulders) are a bit of a speciality of mine ![]()

Thanks man, here goes.
The first time I felt I injured it was about six years ago moving a 46" Trinitron, a beast of a TV. Could not do any bicep work for a few weeks but I continued to work at my factory job that was very tough when healty then alone injured. We handled/wrestled/lifted 50’000 pounds of steel each on an average day on a heat treat line making truck springs. My elbow eventually healed but has never been the same. I couldn’t do hammer curls on a consistant basis for about two years.
When it hurts the most: Pull ups, reverse curls, military press(at the bottom when the bar is at chest level), hammer curls have improved but still a little iffy, incline bench(again only at the bottom). I would love to be able to do snatches and explosive type movements but I feel the jerkiness(forgive me for my shit tewminology) of these movements will do more damage and not worth the risk.
The pain isn’t like a knife sticking in there or anything, just sore and uncomfortable. Not a good feeling. I work around it as best I can and be carefull.
Before I do any bicep stuff I start off with reverse curls with very light weight to get it nice and warm then see how it feels that day and go from there. I have no idea if what I’m doing is right or wrong. BTW it’s only my right elbow that’s a problem, also I’m right handed.
It never hurts doing triceps excercises if that tells you anything. Not sure what else I can add to help you figure this out. Is it something that can be fixed with ART? We have a few in town that I could see.
Regarding ART: A friend of mine plays pro hockey and he swears by it now. He says the dude digs right up into the hip bone and just about bring tears to his eyes but he loves how it feels after.
Anyway that about it and thanks in advance for any help, no rush.
For what its worth, I didnt have a great shoulder and thought it’d be troublesome and difficult to fix. I’d get pain in the elbow and the shoulder clicked, clunked and generally didnt function very well compared to my left.
After BBB worked some magic with some art and other such things, I cant believe how awesome my shoulder feels and literally my entire body functions a lot better. No pain in the elbow, shoulder feels practically the same as the other, I came away from one session feeling like a new man.
Personally, I would definately get your friend to reccomend you that guy/girl he goes to see as you cant get to BBB yourself ![]()
^Thanks, it was worth enough to get me to look one up here in town and it looks promising from the website. It’s a sports injury clinic which is good news. 6-12 visits, 4-6 weeks average, no price range so I’ll call them up and see what they have to say, can’t hurt to ask.
Just back from my trip to see BBB and just thought I’d log on to say what a nice guy he is… nice dog too. I’ve seen a couple of physios and chiropractors but nobody has inspired me with confidence as much as BBB.
