Yesterday’s Comp
So it was a 4 man team competition, and the teams were made by bodyweight distribution so that each team had similar overall bodyweights (i.e. each team weighed ~900 overall). There were 3 teams of 4. It consisted of:
1) 185 lb clean and press as many reps as possible (AMRP) for 90 seconds. I got 1 lol, my clean is so crappy. Our team took 2nd place here by 1 rep! I felt bad lol
2) 135 lb farmers walks for time. Each team member had to run the weights down the length of the gym and back. Our team got 2nd by 0.04 seconds!!
3) 365 deadlift for AMRP in 90 seconds. I messed up here, I figured we would have more time so I did a quick set of 6, tagged my partner to go after me, and by the time we got to our last guy we were almost out of time. I could have done 10 but I wanted to keep a solid pace up. Oh well, we won this event!
4) Sled PUSH. We had some weird contraption on the floor loaded up with 3 plates. It was awkward as hell, and my Chucks were sliding everywhere. Took probably 10 seconds just to get the thing moving because I couldn’t get any contraction. I think we took 3rd here.
5) Tug of war. We were down by 1 point here so it came down to us vs. the team in first. We beat them, and then beat the team in last so it was sudden death between us and the team we were tied with and we WON!. I’ll tell you, tug of war is a bitch lol. It felt like a non stop sprint for 30 seconds. I’ve got some nice ropw burns on my sides too, we all had a shirts off lol. Felt like the cliche group of meatheads out in the volleyball sandpits playing tug of war.
Overall it was a good time, but I hate how everyone there knows how to actually clean and I walk up to the bar and RDL/upright row it to press lol.

@Matty: The complex really isn’t all that hard. It ain’t easy lol, but I’ve done the deadlift complex and that thing is brutal.

That comp sounds AWESOME, although I doubt I could do any good. Great job pulling out the win!
Sounded like a cool competition! does all your MP and seated MP work before BB incline effect your strength levels, just curious cuz I could imagine you incline benching more weight if your shoulders werent already taxed from the OH pressing.
@Aqua: There are definitely some STRONG guys in there (our club’s coach repped 365 for a set of 20 I think lol, and they are all from a dead stop). So I’m pretty glad I held my own.
@Matty: At first, strength does drop. My best incline completely fresh was 235 X 3, so I’m pretty happy I can get 225 X 3 now after doing probably 10 heavy sets before lol.
You did awesome for not doing Strongman. That’s really impressive! I don’t think you sucked at all. Your team was on fire.
When I was at the expo, I noticed the DL/snatch high pull combo too. Very impressive to do all of that in a second haha

Felt pretty good and I might keep this up over summer.
