My Problem with Wikileaks

The Snopes link says it’s unproven. The other is the Washington Examiner, the infomercial of journalism, and it simply cites WikiLeaks citing some “report.”

Well yeah. Every single email from the DNC dump is “unproven” the DNC/Hillary refused to confirm or deny anything. Hillary didn’t deny it when directly asked about it on video. If she didn’t say such a thing she should have completely denied it.

All of this is a derail to @Mufasa 's thread about whether Assange is a real journalist and whether he’s just a convenient attacker of certain groups. I was just trying to point out that if Assange had an axe to grind with HRC, this might be part of the motivation.

So explain how it works.

So you’re saying that America is a shithole? Nowhere else has even close to the number of school shootings. Are Americans a bunch of sick, twisted murderers who should starve or die of disease?

Go easy, Trump Derangement Syndrome is a serious thing.

I did multiple times up thread, and poorly at best, but still plenty good imo. Even linked you the extradition thing. International treaties allow for extradition in certain cases. As assange is accused of a computer based crime (etc) he is able to be tried in the locale of the victim.

Question. A terrorist spends 10 years bankrolling and planning terrorist attacks on nuns and baby hospitals in Canada, but never steps foot on Canadian soil.

One day he shows up in Quebec. Should he be immune to all prosecution in Canada? After all, he wasn’t on Canadian soil for those 10 years of terror planning.

Edit: in this hypothetical, he’s just in Quebec on vacation after his minions carried out the attacks.

Assange is not in the US.

I know how extradition works. That is not even the argument.

Here’s the funny thing about this: He’s only facing up to 5 years in jail in the US. He just spent 7 years locked up in an embassy where he wasn’t even welcome for the last portion of his stay. That doesn’t sound a whole lot better than prison. Sure there’s the chance of getting beaten, stabbed, or raped, but he could have spent the last 7 years training to fight.

Nor was the terrorist in my example. I take it you see what I’m getting at irt your stuff about being on the soil of a country to be breaking the law?

If not, I really would be interested in your response to my hypothetical above.

Tbh I’m not sure what the argument is. If it’s that the us gets to abuse it’s relative power in the world, I agree, but it doesn’t really matter in this scenario.

He got to sleep with Pamela Anderson during his stay at the embassy. That’s better than most any jail. Even a palm beach county club jail.

I’m a believer brother. I wanted to discuss Iran and Russia but I guess this thread
Is all about how Hillary got screwed and Orange man bad!

If he actually entered the country that he attacked then it’s a different story. If what Assange did is illegal in the UK or wherever he was when he committed the alleged crime then he should be charged by that country.

There is similar stuff going on with Jamaicans doing some phone scams and getting extradited to the US. The Jamaican government just does whatever the US wants (read about the Tivoli Gardens massacre for an example), if anything they should be tried in Jamaica.

How does it not matter? That’s what this is all about, the US massacring civilians and answering to nobody but if you expose what they do then you are now the criminal.

Now here’s the thing, the charge they have him on only carry a 5 year max sentence. Blasphemy in Saudi Arabia carries the death penalty. Doesn’t that indicate that blasphemy is a much more serious crime? Why are blasphemers not extradited to SA for public beheading? Obviously that would be ridiculous, but so is this case. Assange killed nobody, the US military killed hundreds of thousands, but he is the bad guy. This is some sort of inverted morality.

The US won’t comply with UN laws (see the Golan Heights, Jerusalem as Israeli capital for example) and won’t join the ICC but feels it can enforce its own laws around the globe. This is a global tyranny.

I don’t know man, she’s kind of ugly as hell these days. You can get conjugal visits in jail in most circumstances too.

I don’t care for Trump at all, I see him as the false hope for white Americans just like Obama was a false hope for black Americans. But the weird thing is that the leftists go after him for all the wrong things while ignoring the shit he really did do. Politics is just a big puppet show, the problem is that the things they announce in that puppet show have real life implications.

Thanks, @Basement_Gainz

I began this whole thread after having to stomach Assange’s Lawyers/Allies bullshit about his arrest being “the death of Journalism” and it being “a terrible day for Journalism and the Truth”.

It was NOT meant to be a thread in any way whatsoever pointing out how Clinton got screwed or how Trump is the Devil Incarnate.

With that said; it is impossible to not discuss all three (Wikileaks, Clinton and Trump) when one looks at the asymmetric “journalism” that occurred during the 2016 Election.

Great. Wikileaks revealed that the DNC and Clinton would sell their own babies and kill puppies to win an election. But where was the “balance”? Isn’t that “true” journalism? Where are the e-mails and documents on the RNC and Trump? And in their history; (Wikileaks); where are all the documents on other World actors besides the U.S.?

Why? He wasn’t in Canada when he wasn’t even committing the terror attacks.

So the terrorist in my example needs to be charged in his home country? Canada let’s him walk?

Because it has no impact on the current legality of the case?

I’m hoping this is rhetorical. I’ve posted the extradition stuff and talked about it enough. Gonna just ignore the horrendously crippled analogies you keep trying with SA. They’re really really bad analogies with no basis in basic logic, fwiw.

I will agree with you that Wikileaks is biased.

Maybe because of what was mentioned earlier, regarding drone strike.

This is what I am thinking. If assange has some stuff on trump, it’s business related, he screwed some people over, or like the prostitute cover up.

if everything that was released was true about HC and her campaign. (Moloch and all that stuff). Who is the greater evil?

Just my final thought on why he might be biased.

Right…

The Lovable Rouge who likes a little pussy on the side and Big Macs; gives cute little nicknames to the enemies of Right; and is the upholder of truth, justice and the American Way…

Vs the child and chicken sacrificing Succubus, who is the very spawn of Satan himself…

No comparison, @anon10035199

I say release it ALL, both sides. Absolutely everything and lay it on the scales.

Let people make up their own minds based on both truths.

You know I don’t believe all that about Trump, right? Lol. He is the Lesser of two evils. That’s it.

All this discussion about the brother of Lemmiwinks? The gerbil who crawled through Mr. Slave’s ass on South Park?

Any country can make any law they want, it’s just that their laws have no effect outside the country. Canada won’t extradite people to countries where they face torture of the death penalty, nor for crimes that are not against the law here.

Once you are under a particular country’s jurisdiction (by entering their country) then they can do whatever they want with you. Just like if you committed whatever crimes under Sharia law (I know you love this analogy), were publicly know to have done so, and you entered whichever fanatical Muslim country you could expect they would arrest and charge you.

Is that a question or a response? You believe that exposing war crimes is a crime in itself? Why is it not illegal to speak about the concentration camps in Nazi Germany? They were secret, if you expose state secrets should you not face prosecution?

What the US is doing is “really really bad” too and goes against common sense, but they are still doing it. Is the US a global police force that gets to break all the rules?

I’m glad you recognize why we don’t extradite people to Saudi Arabia despite constantly asking lol.

So Canada is charging our hypothetical terrorist now? Despite how he wasn’t on Canadian soil at the time akin to your comment about assange not being on American soil?

It was a sarcastic response.

Nope

Because there isn’t a law that says it’s illegal?

I’m sorry for the ? that keeps popping up. I keep thinking these might be rhetorical questions.

What does that have to do with your constant Saudi analogy being garbage?

Kinda, yeah.

At least historically.

Can you blame Assange? He probably figured that helping Trump was the only way out of his situation. In fact, because of the statute of limitations (which in this case some law would have made it 8 years) they were nearing the end of their opportunity to get him. Elections are coming up, human life is expendable, and plenty of people want a global police state USA.

Has Trump never been to Bohemian Grove? I thought all the Republicans were in that. They make sacrifices to Moloch there, effigies they claim but still.

I didn’t know that Hillary liked Big Macs. Thanks for keeping us informed. And Bill only takes blowjobs or what?

There is no use in arguing with you because you fail to comprehend what I am saying.
