My Problem with Wikileaks

I’m sorry, I don’t believe you. Both of your responses to me were in regards to Trump. You took another topic from my response and somehow brought it back to disparage Trump. LOL

Come on.

You’re still not understanding what I’m saying. Extradition is one thing. How can a crime be deemed to have taken place when nobody except the US considers it a crime, nobody else is trying to charge him, and he in not American and was not physically in the US when these alleged crimes occurred? No other country does stuff like this.

How can you violate a country’s laws when you are not subject to their laws? If you are not American and not in America then American laws are not supposed to have any power over you. Just like you can drink beer outside of Saudi Arabia, their laws have no effect outside their territory. Am I subject to US law here in Canada? How about Ukrainian law? Algeria? Mongolia?

You’re sure that’s the case? Assange was hanging out at the Embassy for kicks?

I don’t know UK law all that well, but the crimes he’s accused of are probably against the law there as well. Conspiracy and whatnot is illegal most places.

You keep saying this, but US law AND international law have repeatedly shown that computer based crimes jurisdiction is victim based. Physically being in a location isn’t the end all be all for jurisdiction (hence, extradition treaties).

If your alleged crime is happening on US soil, absolutely. And vice versa to Canada if you were here.

Sure could…

By increasing his popularity with his Base.

And that’s been proven over and over and over again…

Anything “proven” that he has done is either 1) “Deep State” and/or 2) part of an attempted Coup.

If you support and financially back a coup and the subsequent massacres and atrocities commited by the leaders of that coup, then yes, you are responsible. Bin Laden never flew a plane into the WTC but they blame him for 9/11. This is the same thing.

What are you trying to argue, that Trump and Russia are behind Wikileaks? If so, they are not the kind of friends you want.

Why do you think we hold him responsible? After all he didn’t commit those crimes on American soil… :stuck_out_tongue:

You have no idea what you are talking about. He skipped bail in the UK because Sweden wanted to extradite him so he could be questioned for some bullshit rape case. Don’t argue about things you don’t know about.

Which international law? The US regularly fails to comply with the UN and is not a member of the ICC. US law is irrelevant outside the US.

Yeah, and his supposed killing (which seems like bullshit, but that’s another topic) was an extrajudicial execution. The Pakistani government was pissed off because the US was carrying out military operations in their country without their knowledge or consent. That is a violation of international law, both the execution and violating Pakistani sovereignty.
The US government is a criminal entity, they dictate laws to the world but refuse to follow existing laws and standards.

No, you are mad that it didn’t happen to Trump.

Your call.

Again…I had absolutely no skin in the game when it came to Clinton and the DNC…and don’t care that their dirty laundry (My apologies to “The Eagles”) got exposed.

But don’t insult my intelligence by suggesting that: 1) Trump and the RNC were “clean” and 2) Wikileaks was just exercising journalistic integrity.

I will call Bullshit every time…

WikiLeaks are on Russia’s side.

Also, Wikileaks tried to suppress the so-called Surkov leaks from one of Putin’s top henchmen, publicly screaming the Kremlin line how they’re fake:

I’m asking if you even know the crime he’s accused of and know if it’s illegal in the UK.

If you’ve read the extradition request, please share it. I admit I haven’t seen it myself.

I’m sure Assange is repeating this to himself while he tries to dislocate his thumbs or some shit. I’m not sure what to tell you. International law works differently than you think it does.

At least now we’re getting to the crux lol.

If you live in a country in which your fellow citizens will butcher your children then you live in a country that is destined to be a shit hole with or without any other nation’s help.

I’m not gonna sit here and say that Trump is clean…

But where is the proof? Seriously, we are ALL waiting, and have been for years now.

I guess we will just have to re-elect to see if he is dirty or not. Lmao

Hey @Mufasa . One important point: after the 2010 leak that wasn’t political, just damning of the US military. Hillary suggested we consider killing Assange. That might have made it personal for him.

Not saying he should be defended or we should mourn his arrest. I’m in line with you. But to be fair to a bad guy: if someone suggested killing me I wouldn’t like them.

(…for the umpteenth time…)

Trump is a lot of things…dumb is not one of them.

Like any good Thug…he let’s others around him do his dirty work and take the fall…and there has been more than enough evidence to convict a few of them…

(Also…the SDNY is far from being through…)

I am also on the record in saying that I expect Trump to get reelected.

I bet you don’t have a credible source for that claim about Clinton.

Hillary herself said it was likely a joke. Remember the context though. This was the administration that had used a drone strike to kill a US citizen already. The snopes link has a video with Hillary saying “if I did say that, it was a joke.”

Not excusing Assange, but you could understand having a very powerful person in the government of the most powerful nation on earth joking about killing you would kind of stick in your craw no?
