it’s really an observation… the people i went to the arnold with were surprised on saturday that no one stopped me and commented or said hi or anything.

we realized sunday night that it’s because i was fully clothed, and debated about whether i should try to go nekkid on sunday. ftr, i went in uniform both days-- jeans and a black tshirt.

pegg, on the other hand, got stopped every 10 or 15 feet by someone who was 5’6" and a buck twenty. “you dont know how much you’ve inspired me, man, you fuckin AWESOME!”

its true, though.
I wish I weighed a buck twenty…
I remember when I weighed that much. Steady state cardio was the shit.

i know i’ve been away from the computer. after 10 straight days at work i let myself have an evening to get absolutely shitface drunk, and it was a helluva fun time. ran into an old friend i hadnt seen in years, and got to spend lots of drunky laughs with someone very special.

went to ironhouse on sat (got there 4 hrs late, bc of shenanigans the night before) and it was the LONGEST MEET EVAR. the bench portion took like 5 years. saw some strong guys and some goofballs, but im glad i went.

lifted at EFS today, got some awesome help and hit a new pr- 170x1. couple more weekends there, and i should suck significantly less than i do now. if i dont theyre gonna make me push the prowler uphill.

there has been much of the junk food, as well.

and no, i havent checked the other pw logs… im so selfish and such a bitch.

but, if youre in need of a good laugh, go check the meltdown posts in the peak week diet thread on FA.

Wait. You have time to read the FA threads? Huh?

Its ok, Bear, you can name names and tell them it was me that you’re talking about here.

ouch. i see what you did there. and you’re right. i’ll take a few min and catch up.

HAHAHAHA too funny - YOU ARE SOOOOOOOO RUDE CBear hahaha i think she needs a lie down…

Nice job on the new bench PR!

You should push the prowler uphill either way. Sounds like a delicious new level of hell.

you just show up and get PRs…cool.

Someone’s gotta keep you in line. Might as well be me.

170 was a bench PR!?!? That is very awesome.

damo- welcome! and yes, im rude.

blue- i will not push the prowler uphill unless they tell me to. nope. uhuh.

MIM- tbh i didnt know it was a pr attempt. pegg kept loading plates and handing me off and he and the others stood around and told me what i was doing wrong. i got 1/2 a rep at 175 and when i failed i asked how much it was… i was afraid it was 160 (they knew that was my max) and that i’d just bombed something i told them i could do. imagine the strange looks i got when it was relief they saw on my face instead of disappointment at my fail.

and i have homework to do… my obliques are incredibly weak compared to my RA. Pegg told tate, “she has no abs, no triceps, and no hamstrings.” at that moment i walk up to see whats goin on and tate tells me to get in a plank, steps on my butt and pushes, “nah theyre not that bad.” Pegg gives him a look. Tate tells me to side plank. steps on me again. gives pegg the “oh i see what you mean” look.

snap- you’ll see when the book comes out

kimba- yes ma’am, i can now walk around telling myself (bc no one around here cares or understands) that i can bench MORE than my bodyweight!! woot woot!!

I thought you were working on all that stuff from the program MR gave you?

and about the PRs…what I meant is that some have to really work at shit, going to the gym on a regular basis which you haven’t been able to do because of work…and then you just show up and BAM! PR.

muscle memory? working out with big people? a little of both maybe?

  1. I had no idea that was possible. Damn you.
I also wish I could train with all those strong people. My training partners have abandoned me. Damn chem majors, doing actual work. Who needs productivity?

Good work on the bench PR

MIM- i’ve been off the MR program since abt the beginning of march… my ache to lift heavy things over rode any sense that told me to make sure i was all the way fixed. stubborn bear is stubborn.

re: the prs: when i expressed dismay abt having to take almost a whole week off the gym, pegg told me the rest would probably do me good… looks like he was right. damnit.

re: muscle memory: i think a lot of my metabolism/muscle memory issues are more responsible for a lot of my gains than ive given them credit. i realized the other day that i swam competitively for 14 years and have been active in one way or another my whole walking life. so, maybe this shit comes easier for me and it has nothing to do with genetics. (probably really doesnt. ive seen my parents. even my dad says i remind him of HIS grandfather, who was in the circus for awhile. freaky athletic. yeah. circus. slackrope walker.)

alisa- i’ll take “damn you” as the most heartfelt compliment you could manage at the time. I’m incredibly lucky to have the invitation to train there that i do, and to have the time to do it. work finally put me back on a normal-ish rotation for the weekends, it’s sposed to be 1 out of ever 4 or 5, but ive been told im welcome to come in any time im not otherwise enganged… i.e., after i get home from EFS. HA!

i’ll probably end up doing it. im sick like that.

owlie- thanks!

Where in Ohio do you live and train?

Awesome PR CBear…congrats

Any of your guys at EFS know of a good gym down here in NC?

recent creeper activity prevents me from saying anything other than,

“between the corn and the soybeans”

if they’re reading, they should feel free to answer. if they don’t, i’ll ask around.

not saying you’re like this, but the echoing story i hear from so many of these guys is that people want to come train, ask to come train, get invited to come train, and never show up.

i cant understand why. even if its not the way you want to train, you can still learn something by doing something different for a day. why not take an opportunity like that?

Ohio??? WTF is in the Beer down there . The Compound, Westside, Your Evil ass. Damn is it the constant cold, did all the Viking clans migrate there WTF is with that place that it gets all the cool places to train???
