Man,I hope you hammer him into oblivion!

Good luck amigo. Let us know how it goes.

Hey just letting y’all know I got beat in my fight. Ref stopped it @ about 2 min 50 seconds of 1st round. I controlled early, got a good takedown, nearly landed a good great high kick and was doing well. He caught me with a right hand in a scramble and I was off balance.

It knocked me on my back and he jumped on top and flurried before I could recover. Good fight, good guy I fought. I’ll be training hard and do better next time.

Roll with the punches bro…

Sucks to start off that way(your 0-1-1 now?), but still worth it if it’s something you love.(1-5 personally, but I still enjoy it)

Train hard and keep pushin

Thanks man…yea 0-1-1. Amateur record at least…train hard and I’ll get to start fresh someday. No big deal really, I mean even BJ Penn has some losses. It happens.

Keep training hard, the “W” will come.

Hopefully your coach and you were able to take some ideas from the fight.

For sure man. See the problem is, for me, the nearest MMA gym is over an hour away. I’m a college student, and paying $3/gallon of gas to make that drive while paying $60/month for gym dues is ruff. So I mostly trained myself.

I was in real good shape. Technique was real good, but I knew I hadn’t sparred enough. I was worried that my timing would be some off. Of course I had sparred some, I have friends who are fighters and we got together, but not enough. The fight was a pefect example. I was winning early.

Set up a wonderful head kick, and my toes hit his chin. I missed by just that much. KO for sure man, great kick. But lack of sparring had my timing just a hair off. So I’ll fix that. I swallow the gas price and just make the drive 2-3 days/wk and spar pretty much the whole time. Then keep doing what I’m doing here and fix that little timing issue.

But the stuff I learned on here helped w/ my conditioning/weight cutting tremendously, so thanx for that.
