Bonjour, and that sounds like a great gym! We will be moving around July-August of 2011, but I will keep you posted and hopefully my French will be much better by then…LOL!!!

Thanks, Steve “AKA” banjobrown

Just gotta say that I love this thread. It’s pretty inspirational to listen to you Alex. And man, what I would be willing to pay to be able train in the facilities and with the people that you train with! Lol. Best of luck with that bicep injury, man. I hope it heals up quick for you. And I can imagine that 1 arm DB bench would be a little tricky haha. Maybe should have Thibs strap your other side down so you don’t just roll off lol.
Get that pro card!

@banjobrown: We’ll do Steve!!!

@tuper06: Thanks for the kind words bud! Yeah, we’re blessed to be able to workout in those facilities, it’s perfect!!! Yeah, it’s a real challenge to try to workout only with only my left arm, but you know what, Im still able to get great pumps, and focus even more on the fiber muscle Im working!!! It’s like when you do concentrated curls; you’re able to really isolate the arm and muscle you’re working.

As for having guys over to train with us at our facilities, stay tuned guys, something is in the mix…

Banjo: Actually Alex is downplaying the Pro Gym… surface-wise it is the biggest gym in the word. It’s probably the size of 3 football fields. Several IFBB pro and top level national competitors train there… as well as most exotic dancers from Montreal (which is renowned world-wide for that “art”).

Sounds great to me coach scenery and all LOL

Too bad that I’m going to miss out on that - training with you guys, I bet I’d have 400lb bench in no time…

Just can’t take 6 weeks away from what I’m doing…

@banjobrown: Well, coach blew the surprise!!! Seriously man, it’s a huge gym, just like coach Thib’s said, the biggest in the world size wise! As for the scenery, well, I didnt know if your wife or gf was reading this, so I didn’t put the emphasis on it but yes, there’s plenty of “artists”, normally in the late afternoon (wink wink!!!). Open 24hrs, closes on Xmas and New Year’s and thats about it!!! Great pro-shop (say hi to my buddy and owner Roger Leveille for me!) and a great food bar with many varieties of healthy food, sandwiches, shakes, the works!

Sunday October 24th

Oh yeahhhhhhh!!! Tomorrow at 2pm, hard cast is gone guys! they’ll give me a softer one that I can take off for shower and to do some light exercises with my arm…cant wait!!! This is the beginning of my new and improved right arm!!! I’ve got to tell you though, I kinda cheated a little bit…that damn thing was so itching, I was going nuts, so I took it off…it’s a half cast really, with bandages all around it, so I took out everything and wash my arm, even had a look at my scars; I’ve got like a “Z” shape scar that starts on the side of my bicep, and goes towards the front. The bicep is back at his normal position (good job doc!!!) and Im confident it will be back close to normal!

Had to clean my arm, training two times a day and sweating and everything is not the best way to stop the itching!!! Plus, I don’t really want the sexy nurse to unroll the bandages and look at me like there’s a dead animal in there or something!!! lol!

Besides that guys, everything is A-ok, Im really starting to feel like home, well 2nd home, in Colorado! Weather is great, still 72 today, which for a Canadian boy, that time of year, is unheard of! Training is going great, better than expected, Im actually falling in love again with doing legs believe it or not, Im still around 247lbs and to the naked eye Id say close to 8-9% bodyfat, which for offseason time, is pretty good! I dropped my “cheat day” and replaced it by a “cheat meal”, which gives me 2 cheat meals per week!

Also, for my training, Im still following a protocole that includes activation work at first, then ramping on sets of 5 reps for the bulk of the training, then finishing with some higher volume exercises and a circuit of max reps at the end. I dont really do eccentric less exercises, as they normally require the use of both hands and arms (blast traps, sled, rubber bands). I feel great, my arm isn’t hurting much, Im full of energy and hungrier than ever…bicep tendon tear??? Piece of cake, bring it onnnnn!!! lol! But again, none of this would’ve been possible without the help and support of the hole T-Nation, starting on top with Tim Patterson, coach Thibaudeau and of course, you guys!!!

See you tomorrow, with my brand new arm!!!

Glad to hear you are healing up well Alex and excited for you and your new arm!! Your scar will give you a nice looking battle wound or you could get another Tattoo to symbolize the change.

First of all congrats on getting your cast off tomorrow man. I’m sure you’re looking forward to it just a little bit lol.
My question is about your diet. I know in a previous post you mentioned it was mostly chicken, egg whites, oats, and potatoes. Could you elaborate on that at all as far as your mealplan goes? Any help is much appreciated! As always, best of luck with your recovery!

Is this recovery going faster then expected or is that just me?? It seems like just a little while ago that you were talking about getting the surgery done.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any rehab that you are doing for it or is Thib’s training so amazing that you don’t need rehab?

Not too much fat in there, eh? Do you do better on relatively lower fat intake?

I love following along, you have an excellent physique and it was awesome to watch you train in the videos on the Training Lab.

Regarding your diet, are you off season right now and trying to gain mass?

What does your carb total come too?

Thanks!

Awesome. Thanks, Alex! You must like the Metabolic Drive Growth Formula lol. I might have to check that out. I’ve just been using Grow! Whey lately. So what is your favorite way to prepare your chicken and potatoes? Just curious about how you might season it and whether you cook it in bulk or for each meal. Also, no veggies? I guess you’re getting fiber from other sources though.

Still training and eating like a beast in spite of arm problem . . . that’s legit, Alex! Will nutrition change much after you get your cast off? I bet the ANACONDA and MAG-10 blend helped a lot during that period with your workouts and arm issue.

Keep up the awesome work!

The dancers train there because their HA boyfriends train there.
Try not to get caught enjoying the view!

@samson141: Not really…I’ll start lifting small weights in two weeks, so 4 weeks after the surgery. After that, I’ll see how it feels, Thibaudeau is gonna help me for sure, he always comes up with new freak exercises, sure he find couple new ones just for me!!!
