My New Life in Colorado...

Friday October 8th

Hey guys!!! So everything is set up, Im getting fixed tuesday morning at 10h00am, I’ll have a cast for 2 weeks right after surgery.then we’ll take the cast off and start rehab. Dr. Tim Hall, super cool guy who trains with us at our facilities every day, will be supervising my rehab program. And who better to supervising my rehab than a doctor, who himself had both his biceps tendon torn!!! After that, my goal is the get back into shape, slowly, but surely. Actually, my goal is to go up as heavy, or even heavier than last year, but with better conditioning!

Last year, I went up to 268lbs, but even though I still had signs of abs, I was hovering around 10-12% bf, witch is too high to my taste! This year, I want to be able to keep my bf under 10%. 265-270lbs at 10% bf would be awesome, and that’s what I’ll be aiming for, while staying agile and mobile…lets just say I have my work cut out for me!!! But Im confident that with coach Thibaudeau’'s help, Biotest supplements and determination and perseverance on my part, I’ll be able to reach my goal!!! I’ll keep you posted guys!!!

Good Luck with everything! You are truly an inspiration. Not just your physique but more so your personality. You always answer everybody’s questions and keeping us updated with both of Darryl’s shows was awesome!

@johnman18: Thanks bro!!! I try to stay positive, and also, I try to give you guys what Id want as a fan; infos, answers to my questions, updates and remember, I too is fan of bodybuilding, and I would’ve loved to have access to such a site when I was a bit younger, and what’s nice about it is you guys keep feeding me info too, things I didn’t know, questions I don’t know the answer to and have to search to get you the right answer, I mean, your support, energy, enthusiasm and kind words are fueling my days, literally, and Im really looking forward to having my best year so far on the bodybuilding circuit!!!

Thanks guys!!!

Just think how crazy your legs are going to look after this time is up though

.

Hey Alex just wanted to chime in here. Good Luck with your surgery and healing/physical therapy process. I’ve really enjoyed all your action on the Livespill and I am no doctor, but 6 months sounds a little extensive. Last July I had 2 small strokes in my right frontal lobe and one of the doctor’s said I would never lift again. Well, now 3 months later I have started training again and my doctor’s have given me the go ahead. My health status basically saved me from any permanent damage. Since you have lead a healthy life your healing abilities will be great. I have no doubt. You are a great athlete and will continue to be.

@banjobrown: Thanks for your inspirational words bud!!! Well, you are a nice example of perseverance and courage, I mean, I bicep tendon tear is nothing compare to what you had to go thru, and look at you now, back to lifting again!

I see this hole injury thing like any other obstacle I had to encounter in my life so far, just a phase I have to go thru. Instead of seeing it like a set back, I’ll see it as a good way to improve my legs, calves and abs, since even though my legs were good enough at the Provincial level, if I want to not only compete but also win at the National level and get my pro card, I need to improve them quiet a bit still. So Im looking at this like couple weeks of specialization for my legs, that’s all!!

I think it’s only normal to have doubts and be scared of the unknown sometimes, human nature I guess, but I have all the tools and all the right people around me to heal properly. Thanks to Biotest and my boss, Tim Patterson, I have access to ART specialists, pain management specialist (dr. Hall), unlimited access to top of the chart products, a stress free environment and awesome training partners!!!

Im very, very lucky!!! Tomorrow morning, Im starting a new journey, hopefully one that will lead me to my pro card!!!

All the best for tomorrow big guy, you’re a real inspiration.

Best of luck on your new journey Alex, you will do great

@all: Thanks guys!!! Just finished my 2nd workout of the day, upper body workout, needless to say!!! Now Im off to my place to relax and prepare mentally for tomorrow…have to stop eating and drinking at midnight tonight, so I’ll be having a cheat meal at 11h30!!! lol!!!

I’ll try to post as soon as possible, even though typing with my left hand only might take a bit longer!!! lol!

See you tomorrow guys, with my new arm in place!!!

Good luck Alex. I’ve had my share of surgeries, and have always come out better in the end.

You’re a tough SOB, so you’ll make it through this, no sweat!

All the best

Hey buddy, I wish you the best of luck in your surgery I know you will be back at 110% very soon! Hey quick question, did you do the MAG-10 pulse fast? If so, how did you like it and how were results? Thanks bro

@rylittleton: Thanks for the kind words man! I didnt have the chance to try the Mag-10 pulse fast yet…but im very looking to trying it as soon as Im back on my feet!!!

Tuesday Oct. 12th

Ok guys…surgery is done!!! Everything went well, but let me tell you, when you wake up not feeling your arm from the shoulder down, it’s kind of frightening, even though the nurses are telling you it’s normal!!!

Last thing I remember is the doctor asking me to count backwards starting from 100…I was able to make it to ninety…zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
Next thing I know, I wake up, my arm in a sling, 3hrs later! lol!

Again, a big thank you to Biotest and especially my boss Tim Patterson, Dr. Topper and also, my bud Kevin, who came and pick me up after my surgery, and is now my “nanny”, having to comply to my every demands!!! lol!

Tomorrow, day one of my recovery! Shower and getting dressed will be tons of fun! lol!

Good luck adjusting while you heal. I had my arm in a sling on a couple of occasions, and just getting used to doing things (especially bathroom related things -lol) with your other hand is quite an ordeal!

Wednesday October 13th

@Stu: Thanks man! Yes indeed, Im a righty, so everything is a burden!!! Especially getting dressed…wow! And dont get me started with showering…lol!

Got up this morning after catching only couple hours of sleep, my arm was killing me the hole night, because I dont like pain killers all that much, so I didnt take any. No training for me today, since I have a vacum thing plugged into my arm to suck the excess blood out of my elbow joint until friday. But starting next week, I’ll come back slowly, doing at least legs and hams 3 times a week, and most probably doing the rest of my body 2 times a week, but only the left side, since it always been a bit smaller than my right side.

I still came to the office today, mainly to cheer Kevin and Dr. Hall with their training, but also to show everyone that this injury wont stop me from doing my job and also, just because the sound of weights clinging and guys grunting makes me feel good! (ok Ive got to admit, that last part sounded gay a bit, but you guys understand what I meant, right??? lol!)

lol…not gay…awesome.

See, a tough SOB, under the knife yesterday, back to the office today. While 99% of people would use this as a time to get away from the gym or anything related to it, you do the exact opposite. That’s why you look the way you do, and well, everyone else, looks the way they do

Congrats on a successful surgery. Good luck in your recovery.

Yeah man not gay. Just don’t tell people you are typing with one hand, that would be creepy lol

@synergy93\therajraj: Thanks guys for getting my point!!! lol! I just talked to coach Thibaudeau, and he confirmed to me what I already suspected…training my left side is gonna have a neural transmitter effect on my right side, which is gonna be beneficial as to keeping my size and is gonna help me recover faster afterwards! Can I hear a big hell yeah!!!

So, starting next week, Im gonna do legs 3 times a week, and split the rest of my body in two separate workouts, training only my left side at first. I cant wait!!!

hey i said that too just call me forgets Thibs… hahaha
