Looks real nice. The painted sled looks better than the pic the guy uses on his ebay ad. How’s it hold up for pushing? Any issues with tipping forward?
I’ve seen this on ebay for a while now and thought of buying one. Instead I rigged my own, since I already had a sled and other scrap materials.
I just cut a hole in some scrap wood and slid it on the post of the sled. Works fine so far, but yours looks much nicer
Nice handywork.
I suggested that the guy take a new picture than what he was using on ebay.
I have only pushed mine a couple hundred feet total. I just got it two days ago, and did some light stuff yesterday, so I wouldn’t effect today’s lifting. I’ll go harder on Saturday, and let you know.
The grass was pretty thick, and what I did find is that I had to go low on the handles so it wouldn’t tip. On the thin spots, it pushed great up high. I would imagine that if you are pushing it on pavement/concrete, you could push as high as you want. The handles fit pretty snugly, and the welds look solid, so I don’t think durability will be an issue.

To modi, we drag quite a bit and I really like forward and backward ankle drags as well as sideways belt drags. (In addition to all the other pulls.)
We also do a lot of both traditional and high rows, movements similar to band pull aparts, etc.
Also, we will do something that kind of mimics a walking pull down ab movement that is brutal.
I think I will drop my sled off at a welder friend’s place this weekend and have him weld in bar holders like your’s. That is awesome.

Thanks for the ideas, and good luck adding the bar holders.

why the 2 extra poles at each end anyway? cant you fit all the weights on the middle one
No, the center post only holds about 16 plates, which is only 720lbs. The two extra posts allow for an additional 1440lbs, bringing it to just over 2100lbs.

Hot damn, I won’t be living in SC much longer, but I’d actually been thinking about getting a membership there. Guess I’ll really have to go check it out now.
I would ask if you had any more info about them, but hell, they’re only 10~15 minutes from where I live so I should probably just shut up and go visit.

Put it this way … they have 2 O-platforms, three tires out back, 3 different sledgehammers up to 50 lbs I think, a shit load of kettlebells, 2 power cages, 2 adjustable benches, chalk bowls, bumper plates, fat bars … the only thing that sucks is when the Gamecocks are playing it’s a BITCH to get out of there (especially if you live near the stadium like I did). Those are just the highlights off the top of my head.
I’ve also checked out Stronghold and Brickhouse (imo) beat it hands down in terms of equipment. If nothing else go check it out yourself. Lee (the daytime manager) is a real nice guy and knows his shit.

I forgot all about this thread. I haven’t had the sled out yet this season. Now that the weather is nicer, I need to start taking it for walks again.
