TRAINING!!!
yeah, i still do that occasionally.
5/3/1 week 1 front squatx5
warmup, mobility stuff
barx10, 65, 85, 95, 115, 135-> I was gonna stop here, because I have to remember that I cant max out every set every week. but, the guy who taped me at 135 said, “oh it looks like you could add at least 10 more lbs.” I took that as a challenge, and 135 felt decent enough, so i went to 145.
here’s 135- 11.28.09 135.MPG - YouTube
here’s 145- 11.28.09 145.MPG - YouTube
accessory:
box squats, about an inch below parallel- 145x7<-- felt insane, had to remember to drop the weight. 95x15x2
tried a few sets of dragon flags, theyre not pretty, so i ended up doing negatives. 8x3.
russian twists with 12lb medicine ball, 20 each side x 2
back raises 1x25
so far, feels good. i really like the front squats, and any pointers are welcome. I feel a little like a genie, ready to blink myself into bigger numbers any day now.
hahaha.
took measurements tonight, mom helped… neither one of us really know what we’re doing, so i cant even claim any kind of consistency… i dont really even have any goals with the numbers here, just something i do occasionally, to look at and say, cool. im pretty sure all of these are flexed…

fixed.
That crossed arm position is SO “I Dream of Jeannie”. Good stuff!
I would have taken that as a challenge too. Although, the actual fastest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it. ![]()

Lol at the guy running up to the rack at the end.
Anyways, front squats look good, you have really good mobility considering you have no heel lift. Barefoot f. squats are probably better for you but I feel more comfy with my Oly shoes. But: do them Oly-style, like a real woman should!
Andy- that picture makes my wrists hurt just looking at it. ouch!
does the grip really matter if im not competing? like, does something change that will affect the rest of the lift?
Oh is that how it’s supposed to be? OW!
I thought it was okay to have your elbows parallel to your wrists. Out of ignorance, what’s wrong with that?

Nah it doesn’t. But badass points go up +10.

What do you mean, elbows parallel to wrists? You mean the crossed arms style? Nah they are both good. I am partial to the Oly way since I used to compete in that shit, haha. I personally feel more stable.

pretty confident about my badass points. i’ll take the hit.
I agree with Andy. Plus if you do them really explosive you make the bar pop off your shoulders and you catch it with your fingers=bad ass and makes lots of noise.

It’s bad ass if your using someone elses wrists and hands or if you have Been Olympic lifting for years and have that kind of flexiblity.
