My Journey to Getting STRONG

Don’t be jelly Dove!

I think a lulz train is needed for sure, the last vid I took had a guy doing db curls, seated for the first rep, and then stood up to finish. wtf?[/quote]

Obviously when he stands up really fast all the blood rushes from his head to his biceps giving him a more potent pump and really stretching the muscle at a deep tissue level.

Damnit, I’m NEVER going to learn all the muscle building knowledge out there. It’s so obvious!

I think that chick at the very end was checkin’ chu out mehn.

DOW, ink’s just a weirdo, me no comprende lol :stuck_out_tongue: In addition, a lulz train must be started, people do the weirdest stuff

Phlegms, damn how did you know that?? FML

Ink, all of us r so screwed…all this ADVANCED MOSSLE BUILDING TECHNIQUEZ WE DONT KNOW!!!

AC, prob thought i was krazy lol. I took like 3 minutes to do that damn jump lol

Looks like a solid recovery session, love me some good box jumps.

You need to invest in some larger shirts.

Bigben, yeah man, it felt great. Thanks for dropping in!

Mmatt, yes I do lol. I have so many of those T’s that I wear, its gonna suck having to buy more lol

Nice hops clax! And yea, that chick is checking you out.

May have missed it but why are you doing declines? They hit my chest much better than flat bench, just curious.

Thanks dday! Hahaha yeah, got my eye on another chick that I see at the gym :stuck_out_tongue:

Im doing declines because I had plateaued on bench failing to hit 205x3. I switched to decline as the main movement. I like it alot better, im going to rotate flat bench in every once in a while but after this last week I really like doing flat db first. So we’ll see what doors that opens lb wise too.

NOTES: Really focused on squat form today and getting the bar to actually sit low on my back so Im squatting low bar. This felt really good but changes a few things. I am really pleased overall with how the squats looked, especially the 285 set. Once I get used to the low bar, I will be smoking 305 and 310 for sure. This is the best squats have ever felt for me and the smoothest they have every looked. On zerchers, you can see in the vid the second rep I drove my hips so hard i fell back and had to reset lol. Pretty good day overall although I wouldve loved to get 310x2 or 305x2. It will come with hard work and hammering form.

clax… nice session! Cleans are kinda funky feeling huh? You’ll get the technique down soon enough. I would reccomend (and I’m not clean expert) sticking with a little bit lighter weight till you get the form down a little better. Just the way that you were leaning/back bending to get under that last 135 rep made me think that.

I would also maybe try different grips for your cleans. It looked a little awkward in the “rack” position… not sure if you’re grip was a little bit too wide or not? Again, i’m no expert, but I find that a little bit closer grip than that is more comfortable for me. just something to toy with till you find your sweet spot.

Nice effing box jumps man! I’m not gonna lie… they surprised the hell out of me! hahaha You’ve got some ups and are quick for a big guy. I’m jelly of your box (lololol) but seriously man, those were awesome.

LOL

Nice squats man, color me jelly!

Gregron, thanks man! Yeah they are, thanks for the tips, I will stick with a lighter weight and bring my hands in some. What you said makes complete sense. Haha I honestly surprised myself on the box jumps. Me a “big” guy, thats a LOL. I do play lacrosse though so that could def help my cause. I really liked box jumps though.

DF, goddammit leave me alon3333333

Ink, thanks man, wish it was better but always next time to kill it.

Trying to figure out how to get these stupid videos off my phone, edited and on youtube…

Watching the video’s on my computer (theyre going to take a while to upload and crap) I know why I missed the 2nd rep of 310 and 305. The miss of 310 isnt on vid cause the camera died right after the first rep. But on the 305 I can see my knees buckle slightly. This is what caused me to miss. Need to work on remembering all my cues and pushing the knees out hard. Another thing I need to work on is all the squats were probably near 2" below parallel. I need to figure out where the hell parallel is for me and make sure to go there, maybe a bit lower each time.

This is what I think is parallel…probably wrong lol

Looks parallel to me

That’s parallel from that perspective. If you had the camera a foot lower and looking straight at your knee level, you might see you’re like an inch or two low, but that depth is where I’d suggest going to in a meet, to elimanate doubt and such. Speaking of…when are you going to do a meet? And don’t give me that bullshit "I wanna hit x, x, and x before competing shit. Don’t be a pussy hippie, JUST DO IT!

Yeah I gotta work on just hitting around that area. Ink, i dont know when im going to do a meet. My thoughts were around the beginning of next summer.
