Nice deadlifting! Fuck it, I might have to pay the daily rate at my local gym to get a deadlift session in…

Your home gym limited in weight too? Most I can fit on the bar is like 183-186kg :frowning:

Thanks jab.

ME Bench - 5/23/12

Paused Bench (2-3 count pause)
225x1
235x1
245x1
-add slingshot-
275x1

CG Foam 1 Board Press
135x6
155x6
175x6
195x6 PR

Kroc Row
40x10
60x10
80x20 no straps PR

Facepulls
4x15

Incline Tate Press -SS- Hammer Curl
2x20 -SS- 2x10

Notes: Kept things lighter today and they all moved pretty good. Also left a bit in the tank on the foam board press, I really liked that movement. Overall good day and I feel pretty good. Need to be more consistent with foam rolling at night, ice bathes and salt bathes.

I need to get another foam roller and get on that. Dogs ate mine, lol.

PJ I hear you on being consistent with the prehab stuff. I’ve been slacking of late.

Yeah, but just because I can’t afford more plates. Can prolly fit at least 220 on the bar with decent plates.

Either gym membership for 2 months or 2 more 20s… your call

Ink, lol yeah id get on that.

Deadlift - 5/24/12

DL
-conventional-
315x3x2 hook grip
355x2x1
395x1

Box Pull
-below knee; 2 45lb bumper plates stacked-
-conventional-
405x1
435x1
455x1
475x1 PR

Rev. Hyper
90x4x10

Band Abs
Avgx1x50

Notes: Pretty good day today. Things felt good. The box pulls were tough because lockout is my sticking point. Still pulled some decent weight. Happy with how today went, 2 weeks out tomorrow.

What is a salt bath meant to do?

Jacob - basically a salt bath detoxifies your body…google it for more in depth info if u are interested

DE Bench - 5/26/12

Bench against dbl minibands
-flat-footed
-3 diff grips
135x9x3

DB Bench
50x8
75x6
90x6
100x6 PR

Lat PD
3x10

Band PA
Minix25
2 Minisx2x10

Rolling DB Ext -SS- Pinwheel Curl
3x12 -SS- 12/10/8

Notes: Good day. Speed was good and that was what my goal of the day was, so that makes it a successful day.

Do you find speed work to really be effective?

[quote]mmatt wrote:

Yeah I really can tell when I haven’t been doing it. Even though I may set PRs and whatever when Im not doing it, everything seems to move slower than when Im consistently doing speed work…if that makes any sense

Squat - 5/28/12

Squat
315x1
345x1
355x1

Dead Squat (Pin 10)
-A little above parallel
135x3
185x2
225x1
255x1
275x1 PR

Lying Leg Curl
4x12

Standing Cable Abs
5x20

Notes: Well, squats went alright but moved a lot slower than I wanted and how they should have moved. Guess I should’ve expected it, low back is still trashed from the block pulls. Hit what I went in to hit so I can’t complain too much and this taught me that I need not do block pulls for singles as a secondary movement, its just not optimal training. Next monday is the last heavy day til the meet, it will be redemption for today.

ME Bench - 5/30/12

Last heavy bench til the meet.

Bench (flat-footed)
225x3
-all reps paused from here-
245x1
265x1
-add rev mm; measured to take 45lbs off chest and 0lbs at top; still paused reps-
285x1
305x1 PR

2 Board Bench (flat-footed)
-focused on reversing the weight before it hit the board-
185x6
205x6
225x6 PR

HS Lat Pulldown
3x12/10/8

DB Shoulder Press
2x15

Rolling DB Ext
3x8

Hammer Curl
2x15

Reverse Ezbar Curl
2x15

Notes: Benching went very well, form was pretty spot on. Today was just what I needed before the meet. Focus now is on killing the last heavy pulls on friday!
