Well tomorrow will be the last day MOm is here before I fly her home for a check up etc. then leave her for a bit tochill with the family and get me a short break.
So have been letting her choose where to go and where does she want to go but MORE fishing lol.
It all good though and the weather was great, fishing sucked. I got some drawing done (check out the Calling T Artist thread in off topic) and she was a crotcheting freak.
Hoping all goes well at the check up, we’ll see.
Thanks again all for everything. The positive support has really helped me push thorugh and stay positive with her.
Ltr,
Phill
Oh, and forgot Gothic… Thanks for the thoughts and comments on the ART!!!
Got the news this morn on the scans and such I took monm for last week.
Well we had some probs that I didnt mention on here the last few weeks ashe was here. Just to keep the thread Up damn beat.
Well we cant get a Break it seems.
Cancer again. It spread from the brain cancer she had. Now down the spine. So she now has spinal Cancer. Starts Kemo angain this week.
I guess at least the doc says while not good it is the best type of spinal cancer you can have. Its all external around the spine not In it. He’s happy about that.
She is surpisingly upbeat. See how she pulls through this one.
By god one of these times if we keep beating this shit it HAS to give the hell up. LOL
Thanks again all.
Keepin positive here.
Phill
Hang in there Phil, we’re all pulling for you and your mom.
Like Sisyphus rolling that boulder uphill; eventually he gets more determined to do it the best he can, even if the deck is stacked against him.
We’re with you both.
Hey Bro, sorry I just found my way onto this thread. Best of luck to you both. My girlfriend does the prayer-thing (me…not so much), but you’ll be in our thoughts.
That T-Vixen hat you posted a few weeks ago is awesome (maybe a new product idea for the site, hint, hint??) Your Mom seems like one tough customer, that’s really great to see.
Thanks guys.
Were of course keepin our head on the goal. She always amazes me with her positive attitude Most of the time though all this.
I’ll keep you informed.
Thanks again,
Phill
Hi Phill!
You were kind enough to greet me in my first post. I share the sentiments of many on this thread in offering you my moral support. You’re doing and sharing great things with your mum, and I wish you both the best! I’ve gone through a similar (but less severe) situation with my own mum, so I can understand some of what you’re going through.
Stay strong,
-Glee
PS. Awesome artwork on your site! I like the dramatic and the very slightly Dali-esque perspectives in some of the pieces.
Phill,
You and your mom have done simply amazing given the situation. You guys should be proud and know that you are an example for the rest of us. I hope
and wish her a recovery.
Keep us posted on how it is going and
don?t hesitate to ask for whatever help
we can give you.

Phill,
Also, google Dr. Johanna Budwig if you have not already.

Just a quick update
The Chemo is done and on to the healing process. From talking to her she is doing OK spirits are a bit down as well as generalk health. Having lots of pain etc. The high dose meds seem to add to speech and energy probs. etc.
She’s a fighter though and wants to get well enough to come stay with me again. Got one good report from the Brain MRI. seems clear now and got the best report we could of being low risk of further development. They wont say no with what has come about.
Just wanted to fill you all in on what the latest is and tell you shes’ still fighting. Hopes that this latest will pass and will leave her without the pain iot was causing.
Thanks again all,
Phill
I’m glad to hear that the Chemo’s done. I was wondering how your little trooper’s doing. Let her know she’s still got a team here.
Phill, good to hear that the brain MRI came back ok. That is obviously one of the trickier areas to treat.
Anyway, obviously your mother has beaten this thing down several times now, so there is no reason to believe that she won’t be able to do so again.
You and your mother keep your spirits up and keep on fighting!
Phill,
I just came across this thread and, as many have done before, I would like to wish you both all the best. Keep posting!
Michael

Well all. I this will be the end of this thread. I havent updated this or spoke of mom in sometime as things havent been well. I had been constantly takling to her flying to Kansas on weekends etc. in the times she wass not here with me.
I turn to you all once again you being my real family and friends while I am here stuck in D.C… Dad called me about an hour ago to tell me mom had just passed. While it was expected it still is pretty tough.
You ALL were a BIG help and inspiration to myself and my mom during this Battle. By living and Breathing T-Nation. Nutrition, training and an IMPORTANT aspect many overlook, enjoying Friggin life and having fun. With taking all that from here we were able to extend my moms life from the expected three months to 3 1/2 almost 4 years from the initial cancer. Lots of good timed with me. Several trips from Florida, to Colorado, to spending almost a year here with me in DC, Going to nude model classes fishing, seeing the site and just Chillin. We BUSTED ass for sure but also took time to see life for what it is a short time that we need to cherish. No time to waste it with trivial BS do what you enjoy and/or know is right.
I have learned a LOT from this experience that I will now carry with me forever.
MOM, You may be gone but never forgotten. A true inspiration to me, many lessons both good and bad I carry with me and will use both now and to come. I am also sure I will continue to learn from our time together by simply looking back on it and realizing new things once missed.
OK thanks everyone for everything and please excuse me if I happen to not post for a bit.
Phill
Oh man. Please accept my sympathies. When I saw the thread had resurfaced I was hoping for some good news; I read it a lot even when I didn’t always post. It’s pretty obvious from this thread that a lot of folks on this website cared about your mom’s progress and she had an affect on us - I think you’ll see a lot of messages over the next few days.
Again, my condolences during this really hard time.
