My Gyno Surgery Experience

Hello all, it’s been a very long time since I have wrote, due to personal issues and working like a maniac. I decided to write to give a brief review of my gyno surgery experience for those who are considering it or have the problem also:

My gyno was probably caused by being a fat child, and NOT AAS use since I ran my first two cycles after I discovered I had this problem and it did not get any worse. The phyiscal appearance would get worse when I lost weight. When I was heavier, I barely noticed it some days, but once I got down to single-digit bodyfat, it really started to show.

The surgery: Cost me about $4500. A SHITLOAD of money but I am hoping it will be worth it. I shopped around for a doctor I felt comfortable with and decided on a board-certifiend plastic surgery who has been in private practice for only a few years. I chose him because he did, by far, the best physical and history of any of the doctors, and offered me more options. Because my gyno was mostly fat, he said that traditional liposuction techniques do not provide the best results because the fat of the male chest is usually quite fibrous. He told me he would wait until the day of surgery and decided what exactly he would need to use, and whether he needed to excise the gland of not.

Day of surgery: Went to an outpatient surgical facility. Everyone there was super-nice. Talked with anesthesiologist and doctor drew some markings on my chest. Went to sleep. Woke up in some pain but not bad. I left the facility about an hour after I woke up. The surgeon used a combination of tumescent technique and ultrasonic-guided liposuction to break up the unwanted fat. Total surgery time was about 1 hour. He was surprised how much there was in there. He did not feel it was necessary to due direct gland excision in my case.

Recovery: First four days there was some decent pain, but not enough for me to take any painkillers. I am in a compression garment for at least three weeks. Yesterday, 9 days after the surgery, I went to see the surgeon. He said I was progressing well. Even though I am still very swolen and a little bit bruised, I can already see the difference and am very excited about having a flat chest for the first time in memory!

The future: Not lifting for about 4-6 weeks total after surgery. Perhaps some light cardio after 3 weeks. All in all, the cost of this procedure has been the worst part of it! The pain is not that bad, but it was good to have my girlfriend there to help me for the first week. Not being able to lift is driving me crazy, but I keep reminding myself that once I am healed up, I will actually see my results much better than ever before!

I hope this is a decent enough overview for those interested. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Be well,

Payneman

Good luck man. I have the same problem fatty as a young man bitch tits as an old man 6 weeks off from the gym is a lot though I don’t think I could survive

Thanks for sharing that info with us, Payne.

Now since the surgeon didn’t excise the gland, what did he have to say about potential for future recurrence?

Thanks for the info. I hear they have drug treatment options also. Did you try any of those before you opted for surgery?

How about before and an after pic when you’re healed up?

As far as recurrence goes, the doctor says it is possible. He certainly advised against future AAS use, which is fine because I doubt I will ever use again, just not worth the risk in the grand scheme of things. Since most of it was fat, he said the fat cells should not ever come back. Then he warned me about gaining lots of weight, etc.

As far as drug treatments go, I read on here that letrozole 2.5 mg could help reduce gyno. Not sure if it was because mine was mostly fat, but this treatment did nothing, other than give me headaches, insomnia, and emotional issues.

Unfortunately I don’t keep pictures of myself since I am not a serious bodybuilder. So I do not have any “before” pictures. Maybe I could fine a way to post afters so everyone could see what the scars look like, etc.

Shame about not having ‘befores’ but do post the afters.

Good thread.
