My Goal....

This is an actual message i received just now:

Akuma01 I would just like to say thank you. Its almost the end of my 3rd year of training and I slowly realized that my training has been shit.

I use to program hop like crazy and read and reread all the articles here on T-Nation. But I realized more and more that after these few year I’m still really unsatisfied with the lack of progress. Even though I was considered the buff guy(Good set of traps), I’m still not satisfied.

So I slowly stepped away from all the article reading and started to really listen to people that are actually in the trenches and know their shit. Your body part specific threads eventually led me to realize the greatest lesson of all. And that is that Bodybuilding is an individual journey full of trial and error. Its about experimenting whats the best way for YOURSELF.

I use to blindly follow programs and I realized that because of that I don’t really understand my body as much as I should. This was the first week of my own body part split and each different body part day I found my own alternate and variation of exercises that gave me the best mind-muscle connection I could find. Each day I learned more about myself than I have in a long time.

And I gotta tell you, sitting here with triceps and hams that have never been this sore before(arms yesterday, hams the day b4 yesterday) and heart still pumping from the hardest and most effective quad day I’ve ever had, I’ve never been happier.

Again, Thank you Akuma. I promise you that one day I will be one of the biggest guys on this site."

Each one of us on this site will have different eye opening experiences that will not only nudge us in a different direction, but will fucking plow into us and take us 30 yards through that growth path. I still remember mine, it was a Diet realization, and what do you know, in a year and a half i slabbed on 80lbs.

Though we all walk our paths differently, and choose different routes or shortcuts, the main goal is the same. Keep pushing, keep growing. You arent a amongst the Elite group of Olympians, so that means YOU cant narrow your field of vision, you have room to grow more, to learn more.

What we do to ourselves daily, most will never realize. Most dont know what its like to put 500lbs on your back, and slowly creep to floor, feeling your whole body scream at you, “WTF ARE YOU DOING!” You have people in this world that blindly think someone takes steroids, and wakes up the next morning 280lbs of muscle.

There are probably people on this site that think there is only 1 right way. Stew this over…Every Major Olympia winner has done things differently. Coleman, Yates, Arnold…These programs are night and day in differences.

Take the example from the man who sent me this message, keeping growing, keep pushing, and keep an open mind.

Happy lifting everyone.

Akuma is a beast and inspired a guy to also be beastly.

Awesome Akuma

My bet is you receive plenty of PMs like this and would have even more if guys weren’t so intimidated by your clever, ultra-witty responses.

(thats my reason anyway)

/nut-huggery

I only get hate in my PM

Someone told me to repent once.

^Major point right here, so if you haven’t found what works for you yet, keep going!

Oh yea, i do get daily Pms from different people, but that really isnt my focus. Im not gonna grab all of those and drag em out here in hopes to balloon my head even further (big enuff). The main point was simply the need to expand horizons, trying different things and finding what works for you. People need to just not be so damn stubborn in their methods and ignorant of the rest of the bodybuilding community. I said it earlier, Major olympians trained 180 degrees of each other. Ive watched Coleman, Arnold, Yates. Ive talked to Nasser El sonbaty in person, and see him often. I use many techniques from them all, but im not even close to done. My eyes are glued to the peak of that mountain.

Awesome.

I know guys like H4M who do instinctual training with very little volume who are big. I know guys who can spend 90-120 minutes in the gym and are big. I also know guys who can handle 600 g of carbs and guys who can’t handle more than 250 g on a consistent basis.

I’ve always thought that the “individual uniformity” (for lack of a better phrase) has been one of the most interesting concepts in lifting. The fact that yeah, there a few constants that need to be met for a successful training career (iron stomach, brass cajones, winning attitude,) but after a certain point everything is individualized. Tailoring needs to an individual is, in my opinion, of the most important aspects of success in lifting endeavors.
