My First BB Competition Prep

Muah haha, thanks for the kind words all!

Thanks for the suggestions Fatty.
I love T-bar rows (and the HS Iso Row for that matter) and I’ll add them into the Back specialization program I’m doing.
I am doing the straight arm pulldowns, I’m going to sub it in for stretchers on Sunday though just to test the waters.

Hungry, thank you for the post, I appreciate it…

I’m working my hamstrings twice a week, once with lower back and with quads. For the quads, I’m starting off with squats (get my glutes up), hamstrings, then a couple quad exercises at the end if I can get through it.

Your post helped me a lot:

  1. I go light on GMs, with a narrow stance. Will definetely do heavy, wide stances tomorrow.
  2. I did 6-12 reps on hamstring curls. Will do 15-25 full range curls tomorrow.
  3. I’ll alternate SLDLs with Deficit RDLs, low reps
  4. I currently do that for chest, so I guess just keep at it.
  5. Didn’t know that about the shoulders, will do. By all variations you mean L-raises too? I don’t have the machine lateral raise sadly.
  6. Ha, pendlay rows. I guess I can try to get a vid in my log to get some critique on them.

I’ll be adding/subtracting stuff from my current routine in order to apply the advice given to me.

I appreciate the well-thought out responses everyone, really means a lot =D

Wow nikki, its really impressive, these pics really show the great progress you have made, all due to your hardwork and persistence. I dont know much about BBing but this is just the beginning and you look great, I could only imagine when you hit your prime…awesome.

Wow, Woman!!! This was a damn pleasant surprise… And I’m diggin the glasses as well.

Thanks Matty and Beast =D

No problem…and either way, looking forward to how this contest prep goes. I’ve been going otu with a girl that’s preparing for her first figure comp, and it’s fun exchanging idea between how PLers get things done, and figure chicks…lots of very different ways of looking at tings. The key is just finding which parts work best for you. She also has the issue of dominant legs (especially quads) and a lacking back, so I’m trying to help her out with that as best I can.

And yes ANY shoulder isolation work is fair game. One of the biggest things you’ve gotta figure out is which exercises/body parts work ideally with a focus on FEEL or weight used. Some work well with a combination. Either way, people will criticize what you’re doing…so just stick with what works.

These pics are much better,… I can definitely see you doing well as a natty BBer. Keep pluggin Nikki.

No advice here, but I’m impressed with how you’re doing.
How tall are you, btw?

H4M, just give her the advice that you gave me, because I’ve been following your tips and I think it’s helped me ENORMOUSLY.
Thanks so much for your input.

Mighty Stu, that means a lot coming from you. I won’t act like a giddy schoolgirl (oh wait, I am) so I’ll just say thanks ;D

Thanks Alisa, and I’m 5 feet… even

1 week update is today:

Right now, weighing in at 144-145 (bloating)
Last week’s BF- 16.6%
Today’s BF- 15.5%

I use the 3 point system, not really hung up on those numbers, just want to see a DOWNWARD trend
If interested:

Last week’s measurements (in mm of course):
Tricep-11
Suprailiac-10
Right thigh- 19

This week’s:
Tricep- 11 (same)
Suprailiac- 9
Right thigh- 17

I took a vid of my rear lat spread too, I really just wanted to see if my lats get wider AT ALL.
I’m happy that they do, sad that it isn’t wider.

Got a long way to go with posing, but practicing more and more.
I also learned that I like closed fists better than open

Rear double bi

Well don’t I look all happy go-lucky

looking strong Nikki~

I think you have a great shape and sweet muscularity.

Those are the only really appropriate comments that I have.

way to go girl!! you’re inspiring

you have a look for this fo sho!!

making me want to go ahead and JUST DO IT…

lovin the side poses…your back is making progress already…unless your just getting better at posing?? (or both!)

you’re a better poser than me, biceps look good in these new photos especially in the FDB

Yeah, looking awesome. I love the side on pics.

Thanks for the comments! <3

MiM, it is a bit of both. I keep learning new things about posing everyday, but the back specialization program is also pretty awesome and my upper body seems to be catching up to my lower body pretty quickly.

Austin, I hate that you come into my RMP thread with that lat spread. You know I’m working on mine… show-off ;D

Always happy to help when I can. If you have any questions regarding anything (especially back and legs), feel free to ask here or via pm.
