Berardi recommends to have meals which are either:
Protein+fat(with less than 10g carbs)
Protein+carbs (with less than 5g fat)
Check his article ‘Massive Eating’ for ratios and calorie requirements.
Good Luck.

As others have recommended you should follow a program and diet from this site for a while.
And then with that knowledge you can start to design programs for yourself.
Don’t be scared to lose some muscle in order to get lean. Think quality weight over quantity. Also you’ll be much more motivated in the long run, when you look in the mirror and see muscles and viens popping out everywhere.
You’ve got the determination to succeed.

Half_Truth, I generally like your posts. However, I the more I learn about diet, the more I’m realizing it is possible to get lean without muscle loss. (or at least very little muscle loss)
OP - you could cut grains if you want. I eat a very similar diet to CrewPierce and it works very well for me. For the first time in my life I’ve actually been getting stronger and losing fat. I didn’t even think that was possible… Especially at my age. (32)
The difference, however, in my diet and CrewPierce’s is that I add in potoato or rice as needed. Firstly because I hate yam (even though it’s better), and second because I just need more carbs. Maybe it’s my activity level, or that I’m an ecto… I dunno. That just works for me.
On days when I’m cutting carbs I consume only meals that are protein and vegetable or protein and fruit. (i’ll add fat to my salads or to my shakes as well) Works REALLY well for getting lean without losing strength. But you have to eat A LOT.
And remember how crucial nutrient timing is…
